6'6 wing? You think she'd be better at center, ala Britney Griner with that height.

He gone.
Oturu says hello!
Hurt, Nnaji, Terry, Wahl, Roddy, Jones x2, Sims, Reuvers, Davidson, Race Thompson, John, Wright etc. say hello.

He gone for sure with NC sniffing.

They haven't kept a five star since Royce White so it's hard to be confident either way. Most of the guys above are not top 50 players though.

I'm not confident. I'm starting to think a class of Crowl, Madsen and Walton is about best case at this point.

They offered a PF from Nebraska yesterday too. His dad is a U alum.

I don't think they add Madsen AND Walton but they should be open to it IMO. Also, Madsen's twin brother is 100% at least a mid major player, can really shoot.

Any chance Gabe Madsen is on commitment watch with him and his parents meeting with Pitino this Thursday?

I'd be a little surprised. Crowl's dream school is Minnesota but Madsen told Doogie he was surprised the Gophers offered.

Also, Iowa offered him and may be willing to take his brother. That's the downside now of only having three scholarships. Maybe Pitino could try to convince the brother to walk on for a year and give him a scholarship. Perhaps they try to squeeze a guy or two off the roster at the end of the year. I don't know.

This is shaping up to be a fun 2020 class to follow. Hoping we can land Garcia+ in the next few months.

Kerwin Walton:

Hears from Creighton the most right now, Baylor also contacts a lot. Hear more from Nebraska and Drake, trying to schedule a visit to Drake but hasn't yet.

on MN:
He has heard a lot more from them recently. Talked at the team camp to Pitino and Ed Conroy. Likes the gophers. "They will have a solid squad, I could be a shooter with Gabe, a 3& D guy with Gabe"

Does Pitino not like focusing on MN kids? Feels like he overlooks them to chase after out of state recruits which hasn't really paid off

He hasn't landed a Minnesota kid since Ben Johnson took off for Xavier spring 2018. Worrisome to say the least. And then he has Steven Crowl on campus, a top 150 PF/C from Eastview and doesn't offer him on the spot. Crowl was ready to commit.

I think he wants Dawson Garcia and Jalen Suggs badly. He was after Kerwin Walton quite a bit but there are other guards he's open minded too. And now I think he's after Gabe Madsen from Rochester Mayo -- who has a twin brother so those two might be a package deal. Oh and Minnesota can't afford to take both right now so there is that.

Sounds like Suggs to Gonzaga is all but a done deal. So thats two of the top three 2020 guys going elsewhere. It's doubtful that Garcia goes to the UofM.

Doesn't sound like Dainja was going to get in academically to the University of Minnesota. Suggs/Garcia are five stars... IMO the big misses will be if they don't land Walton or Madsen, Crowl and then none of the top 100 guys. Carlson I don't think ends up here and frankly I don't think he' all that much better than Crowl or some of the other guys they've offered recently.

I was watching some highlights on Madsen yesterday. He's a pretty good player -- 6'5 ish and kind of an all around player. Doesn't do anything exceptionally well but he's versatile and can score well, handles the ball well. Has enough size to play defense on the wing, he'd be a good get.

He's a perfect fit for Wisconsin. Why the gophers have not offered is beyond me.

I don't think Crowl has a committable offer yet from the Badgers. They have one scholarship left right now -- I think they offered because Pitino likely offers Crowl when he watches him play in the next several days but Wisconsin wanted to offer first. Crowl likely commits to MN if offered still. The reports are out there Wisconsin laughs when they offer a local MN kid and MN comes in right after.

It sounds like the Gophers might be interested in both Madsen brothers now. Mason (Gabe's twin brother) is viewed more as a mid major player but....

Mason Madsen is interesting. He's not a great athlete, but he can really shoot it. I could see him turning into a solid player.

Walton is blowing up because he's a fantastic shooter. Schools won't sleep on him like they did with Kalscheur.

I think Kerwin's dad is former Gopher Jayson. Played from 91-95.

Q: What are you telling schools during the recruiting process about playing with your twin brother?

A: I’ve kind told everyone the same thing. We’re going to do the best for ourselves. If it so happens there’s a situation where we can play together we will go with that. That would be awesome. But we have to do what’s best for ourselves. I don’t understand why some schools aren’t offering him. We’re always in the gym together and our 1-on-1 games are competitive all the time. We’re just different players. I’m just a little bit bigger. There are less people who are 6-6 who score the ball. He’s 6-3 and there’s more people playing point guard, but I guess that’s it.

Yeah, probably. I think he'd take any combo of guys for the first two commits. But I do think the Gophers would need to offer Mason if they're thinking Gabe wants to come here. I think Iowa is in good position to get both if they offer.
