Sources: The Twins are getting RHP Jhoan Duran, OF Ernie De La Trinidad and OF Gabriel Maciel from the Diamondbacks for Eduardo Escobar. All three are at Class A Kane County
Remember earlier this season when a couple of posters were going on about him because he was:
278/ 305/ 646
OPS .950
8 HRs on 6/1?
2 months later.....
223/ 270/ 428
OPS .697
9 HRs
Hmmm....seems as if he is going right back to who he was with the Twins.
I wonder if his teams are still losing games because on a dropped 3rd stike call to end the game with the 27th out,he can’t make the throw from home plate to first base without throwing it into right field?

This would be pretty amazing....
considering they picked-up Machado last week.

Twins need to take whatever for Dozier at this point. Starting to worry teams will just wait until the winter.
I'm not going to rip the Twins on this one. He helped get them to the postseason last year and it's not as if they were offered anything good for him in the first place.

LA has every advantage. Great locale. Ownership who spends tons. And a loaded farm system.
True...
If Miami had better ownership, they would be in the same situation.
Don't the Dodgers have some giant TV contract in the billions? I think that plays a factor into what ownership is willing to spend on the roster. I don't think Miami has that advantage.
Edit: I just looked it up. Dodgers have a $8.35 billion contract over 25 years...roughly 335 mill per season.
Marlins have a contract paying them about $20 mill per season.

You are trying to pick a fight...
If Miami had better ownership then all of the other factors would come together.

I'm not doing it with you..
I seriously am not trying to pick a fight. I just think the TV contract the Dodgers have plays a big factor in how they operate.
Even with good ownership, its gonna be hard to get a $8.4 billion contract. The Yankees arent even close to that contract.

Ok.....
That is fair.
I might've overreacted.
They play by different rules.....
$ isn't even a factor.

I think the Dodgers are still paying Scott Kazmir and Andre Either. And It's just a drop in the bucket.

Will they crack the Twins top 30?
I'm also curious how many players in a top 30 outside of like the top 5 guys (which no one we added today is) end up being serviceable MLB players. 2 or 3 would be my guess, but I'm shooting in the dark. What are the chances any of the 5 guys (4 who will likely be in the Twins top 30) added today make an impact some day?
his velocity keeps rising to the point where he now has the best fastball among Houston farmhands. His fastball repeatedly touched 99 mph in each of his starts during the last three months of 2017, maxing out at 102.
Alcala's heater sat at 93-95 mph during his 2016 U.S. debut and operated at 95-98 last year.

How's Trevor May looking? Can we expect to see him up here anytime soon?
straight from his mouth when I ran into him before Spring Training, he said the plan explained to him was for him to be with the team in late May...clearly, that didnt happen. Not sure what the hold up is/was.

Loved double E but a shake up is needed...don't know diddly squat about the prospects...
Hopefully "Rock Me" can give us some insight on them.
Well, I don't have a breakdown of them, but Maciel was No. 11 on Arizona's MLB Pipeline's top 30. He is only 19 (probably go to CR) and has speed and can get on base. Good defensively too. Duran is only 20, and was No. 19 on Arizona's top 30. He has had a subpar year this year, but he has a ton of potential. Duran has allowed 69 (nice) hits in 64.2 innings, and has walked 28, both of which are not ideal. But, he has struck out 71. There is a lot of potential, so he is well worth the risk.
If these two trades are any indication of the overall plan, it seems as though they are more interested in quantity than quality. Chances are that individually, most of these guys won't ever play in an MLB game, but I think they think if they get 8-10 of these types of guys at this deadline that they'll strike gold once, and maybe find another serviceable player or two in the mix that will at least give them something.
