He has quality stuff but he nibbles too much afraid to challenge hitters. To me he is a guy you do not resign.

Do not resign unless at a short club-friendly deal.

He’s fine as a back end starter but he’s not a playoff pitcher.

I'd offer him 3 years at a total of about $40 million

That's it...nothing more

I think that's on the high side in this market. During the last couple years, a few sought out pitchers received a nice deal early and the rest sat through much of free agency hoping teams would come around. I think Gibson falls into the latter category.

my favorite pitch is the 0-2 pitch, w/ Gibson its just painful and you know damn well he'll run it to 3-2

Better than hanging 0-2 curveballs and giving up back-breaking homeruns on it like a certain giant relief pitcher the team employs.

Just getting a little tired of Gibson's act. Just doesn't have the demeanor to be a leader and if the Twins could get much of anything for him in an off season deal I think his ship has sailed here.....

i thought he was going to come up big to start this series. i was wrong. just the opposite. and all after an 8 pitch 1-2-3 first inning and a second inning-that if not for the error-he would have pitched out of an opening triple with no run given up. smh

He's always been one of those "hold onto your butts" types of pitchers. You never know what you are going to get out of him. The only way I would want to see him still in the rotation, is if he was the #5, MAYBE #4 depending how good the top 3 are. I mean, he's not complete garbage, but he's just not that great either.

Gibson doesn't have that "IT" factor. He looked nervous and scared. As Twins' fans we all know what's going to happen. Twins are going to get swept by the Yankees and will also hit NO homeruns in that series. Just watch!

This guy has always been shit. He's not even worth discussing at this point. I was FURIOUS last year when they didn't trade this turd to Milwaukee when they had the chance.

I said his value would never be higher.

He is what he is... A number 4-5 spot starter. Same goes for Pineda and Perez. I'd say Odorizzi is in that category too. He can't go deep enough in games. He's only gone 6 innings once in his last 10 starts. That's not good folks. Right now I'd probably have to go with 1. Berrios 2. Pineda 3. Odorizzi 4. Gibsonsy as my playoff rotation. God help them.

he's going to have enough good "stats" that he's going to get paid. but the way he's pitched lately with the team in a pennant race means that i think they'll let him walk-and they should.

It won't be a long term deal. The market for pitchers over 30 is not good. I think the Twins will offer him the QO, and hopefully he turns it down. He's not good. I actually hope they retain Odorizzi and Pineda as the 4-5 spot guys. Gibson and Perez can suck someplace else.

Right now, I'd get that kid back from triple A.

He doesn't seem to be able to make the big pitch in the biggest moment. That's playoff baseball in a nutshell. If he starts a game you must have a short leash with him. I would offer him a 2 year $20 million deal to help bridge the gap to the younger guys.
