Maybe it's just me...but sometimes it's kind of frustrating watching Berrios pitch. Seems like he goes 3-2 on every guy. When he misses his spots, he misses by alot. He's already close to 40 pitches through 2 innings.
Don't get me wrong, he's as close to being a stud pitcher as we got. Just seems like he's either too timid or trying to be perfect with each pitch..

Is Berrios done after this inning? Pushing 60 pitches already.

Berrios is a high end 2, but he’s no ace, I hope our front office realizes this

Does it matter? They are never acquiring an ace. They only get one if one develops (Santana).
So you are correct about Berrios (might not even be a high end 2. He might just be a 2). But that’s not going to change anything

I don't feel confident about this game given the first 3 innings. Maybe we will get lucky and a broken Hand will make an appearance.

They tried with Wheeler. But he is hardly an ace himself. A middle 2 at best.Da Gas Man wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:03 pmDoes it matter? They are never acquiring an ace. They only get one if one develops (Santana).

Short night. We aren’t making him throw any pitches either. It’s like 4 pitch strikeouts each time.Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:21 pm Man, this guy has our best hitter completely fooled. It could be a long night.
46 pitches through 4. Awful.

Re: Twins v. Indians for all the marbles series
Wheeler and Berrios are relatively comparable IMO, although I think Berrios' acumen and ceiling are a bit higher by virtue of age (4 years younger). Having said that, he is about the best FA pitcher the Twins could hope to get. Teams that have them don't let them get away and on the rare chance they do (like with Scherezer) the Twins aren't gonna win a bidding war for him. The good news is when playoffs come around we just gotta hope that Berrios, Hill, Madea, Odo, can just get you through five or six innings without totally getting their asses totally kicked. This offense is good enough that they don't have to be brilliant.Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:13 pmThey tried with Wheeler. But he is hardly an ace himself. He's dealing. Berrios better stop the bleeding where it's at because hard to imagine the Twins scoring more than two or three runs in this contest.Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:21 pm Man, this guy has our best hitter completely fooled. It could be a long night.

Why do we have Sano and Garver when we could have Ávila and Marwin bat left?

Littell, great. This 2-0 is about to become 7-0 because Rocco is too damn slow pulling the trigger.

I disagree with this. The postseason is all about pitching. Last year we hit the most home runs of any team in the mlb and we were ice cold in the ALDS.
Because of our lineup we’ll always be in the playoff conversation, but we will never be serious World Series contenders until we acquire an ace

Littell needs to not be in close games until further notice. He is the current weakest link.

The Twins were swept in last years playoffs and were not even competitive for one of the games.
6 games into this season and some have the "Blueprint"
Good pitching always wins. Take a look at tonight.

Re: Twins v. Indians for all the marbles series
The truly frustrating part about starting pitching is that Cleveland ownership is as cheap or worse than the Twins. But they actually have the ability to evaluate and develop pitching. Bieber and Clevinger were 4th round picks.
