It would take a top 3 prospect, and they said they won't trade any of the top 3.

i'm on board with that. this would show the team and the fan base that the FO is in it to win it.

Mets GM comments last Friday sound like he's not moving anyone who they control beyond this year. Of course, that could change with the right offer.

Braves, Astros, Brewers, and Yankees are being mentioned in trade talks for Thor. No mention of the Twins.

Robbie Ray should also be considered. Solid lefty. Has a lot of walks, but 135 K's in 111 IP. He also has a sub 4 ERA.

Well at least we're going to have a fun season even though, we likely won't do much in the playoffs.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

Why is this guy being so sought after? He's got a 4.55 ERA and his Ks are down. 2016 Thor this is not.

Now’s the time to trade for him.

I mean he’s only 26 and it’s not like he’s washed up. Plus he is controllable for another 2-3 years.

He would be the #1 SP in our rotation. The guy throws the heat. We don’t have anyone like him.

Go get him!

I really like Robby Ray. He’s a boom or bust starter but I think a change of scenery would help him out a lot.

Ray has upper level stuff, but he pitches like it's 1985. He throws way too many pitches trying to get guys to chase, meaning he never goes deep into games.

He has 20 more IP then Oddorizzi and 37 more K's. He has 7 more IP than Stroman and 47 more K's.

He has 117 IPs. That ranks 19th in the MLB this season.

Source: #Twins had a top talent evaluator in San Francisco for last night's Madison Bumgarner-Noah Syndergaard matchup. Minnesota has the prospects to make a strong play for either starter and also has interest in the #SFGiants relievers. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Cant seem to get a true ace to sign here. Force there way here via trade.

We are loaded with prospects. And fairly young core anyhow.

It's not that they can't get an ace to sign here. They aren't willing to pony up the funds to get one. A trade for prospects is the logical answer, but they won't do that either. They overvalue prospects, because they are cheap controllable players. It's a vicious cycle.

Syndergaard is a pipe dream. I don't think the Mets trade him anyway. The Twins are going to do nothing or be sellers. At best, they will trade for a middle of the road RP, and try to sell it to the fan base as a huge deal. It's what they do.
