They are 9-16 in their last 25. It's been a bad month of baseball. I think the concern is warranted for a team that was 12 games up on June 16th. This will be the biggest collapse in MLB history, if they lose the division. No team has coughed up that big of a lead when having a double digit lead, on the division, after June 1st. What the fuck do you expect from fans? Ah shucks... they're laying it on the line. Let's give em a round of applause for trying.

Cleveland has to lose again someday, right?
None the less, the Twinkies are kind of in deep shit right now. They are playing mediocre ball, Cleveland like they are ripping a piece of clothing off of Rachel Phelps every day.

It's like death by paper cuts for Twins fans. No team has ever lost the division, after having a double digit lead after June 1st. I think only 12 teams have been in that position. This will be the biggest collapse in MLB history. Think about that.jffl_commish wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:37 am Cleveland has to lose again someday, right?

But I still believe the Twins win the division, unlike 99 percent of the people on here

The 1951 Dodgers was not a collapse. That was a case of a Giants team completely playing out of their minds. There is nothing you can do when a team goes 37-7 with a 16 game winning streak to end the season.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 6:51 pm If they do end up losing the division it wouldn’t come close to these collapses

the 1978 yankees ran down the red sox and boston actually rallied to force the playoff game. i think sports illustrated called it the "boston massacre" when NY came into town and put a whooping on the home town team-outscoring them by over 20 runs in sweeping them in a four game series in august if i'm remembering right. i was pulling for the bosox that year-so i remember it fairly well.Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 2:33 pmThe 1951 Dodgers was not a collapse. the 1964 phillies collapse is what i think is the ultimate one. kept former twins manager gene mauch from what would have been his only world series appearance. that one haunted him for the rest of his life-as it should have if baseball was your life.

What's our record been during the "collapse"? Around .500? Did you expect us to play .666 ball all year without any lull?
The Indians are on an incredible run and are a damn good team, and we still have them by 4 games if Tay Rod can hold on here. They aren't going to keep this pace. And we just took a series from them on the road during our slump and their hot streak.
Enjoy the season! A pennant race is exactly what this team needs to be prepared for October. Let alone that it makes it way more fun.

Some guys just really aren’t fans. When they started out kicking ass some of these guys weren’t around. They start sliding and boom they are here puffing out their chests. Whatever. With that said though most of the Twins had a career first half. I might take 90 wins right now if a Magic Genie offered it.....a take it or leave it offer.

I still believe in this team. A good trade or two and they are rejuvenated. They need to knock off the injuries too.

I agree with that. 85-90 wins is what I expect at this point. Which is better than what I predicted at the start of the season. The reason why I'm so pissed is the expectations changed for me after the historic start. They had a real shot at doing something special this year. Dream dead.

I wish "fans" would stop going to games, but 80% that attend games could not tell u 5 players on the team. It's something to do for them.

I guess for me it has been a disappointing stretch obviously, but we're playing a tougher part of the schedule with some injuries, Indians have been on fire, and the Twins can start raking again for a few months for all I know. I'm more worried about the Falvine not being aggressive now because of the poor timing of this slump. This is actually when you fuel the fire!Small Hands wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:50 amI agree with that. 85-90 wins is what I expect at this point.
