Skilled? Sure.
Game IQ, discipline, work ethic, desire? Not so much.

Come on Sid. His advanced numbers are miles ahead of Wiggins. He’s at least a net positive, Wiggins is a negative on the floor.

He strikes out half the time it seams and is sieve in fielding

When he FINALLY got back in the lineup after that mystery cut on his foot he looked decent for a bit. Now the big fella is in a complete free fall and is currently hurting this team. Time to cut bait and move on? Not quite yet IMHO but we're getting close....after all, we're all glad we didn't give up on BB!

WIN TWINS!

They can't continue to trot that shitshow out there. 5 K's, is that a new Twins record?

It's like he needs to hit every pitch 700 feet. He's missing 92 mph fastballs in the zone and landing off balance.

He's good at striking out, lowering his trade value and future contract demands.
Saw the 5 K's last night. He needs to master the zone much more and not swing each time likes he's in a home run derby.
I'm OK with keeping him around for a little while and seeing if he can get it - there is potential there.

I'm just worried he becomes the next Ortiz if we trade him away or give up on him but god damn he sucks right now with zero approach at the plate.

A lot of people were calling Buxton a bust not too long ago. Not saying Buxton ever got this low but it's too early to give up on Sano completely. That said he needs some time at AAA.

Man, all it takes is one bad month in this town for people to do a complete 180 on any given sports name.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

I think the main difference with Buxton is we never had to question his heart, effort, desire...... At worst, he is an all-world defensive CF.

Sano is so damn frustrating. He legitimately has the power to hit 40+ home runs every year. We haven't had a player with that kind of power potential in a very long time.

Such a waste of talent.

He was an all-star … and not because he was the only rep! Now... give me Escobar back at third any day of the week. I would have said it last year too.

Dude just needs a long stretch where he's not injured. Hopefully he can be an adequate fielder but he's likely a dh.

Well, let me refine it a bit. Sano has the power potential to be along the league leaders in HR every year.

If he gave a shit and had a good work ethic I'm sure he could get to that level but... It isn't going to happen considering we have never seen that type of commitment from him so far.

As for CJ, I love the guy. Hope we can resign in a multi year deal.

Just answering a question

I'm not defending Sano, the guy is an absolute turd. The only saving grace is his power. I'm past the point though where I think he will every get it

The thing with Sano.....
I actually have done the research on this..

If someone looks back at the commentary on him in '16, '17 etc...in the Strib...its identical to what is being said now.
It never really changes..

I gave the benefit of doubt until a couple of games ago...
He was lazy on D..and it cost the Twins a couple of runs.

(I mentioned it in the GDT as it happened)

As a comparison, I believe Buxton is trying to become a better player..will he? Time will tell....but the effort is there.
I know he just went IL, but right now I'd be fine with making Gonzalez the everyday 3B.

I got to see Vargas 1st career homerun live (free tickets). He did the Donkey Kong chest pound.
That was a fun game.
