Maybe what you fail to realize is Brad Radke spent most of his career on some of the most hideous baseball teams that ever existed.

I would like to see how Odorizzle pitched for all those year's with such stars as..

The Psycho Cordova
Jeff Reboulet
Pat Mears
Ron Coomer
Probably about the same. Those teams were built around defense, which made the likes of Radke, Bonser and SIlva look better than they were.
Those teams were WAY after the aforementioned.

Odor is the exact type of pitcher the Twins will shell out money to next year and everyone will wonder why he isn't that good anymore. Phil Hughes 2.0

Odor was a career under .500 pitcher until this summer.
Wins don't mean much, but if we are talking about them, he had a winning record before he joined the Twins, and he has a winning record since joining them.

My only knock on Brad was his first few innings in some games he would take a bit to vet going. Once he was going, it was poetic.

Calling Radke poetic, and saying he is better than Berrios is PST quality.

I definitely think Berrios will be better. Radke had ordinary stuff but he was a technician.

I'm just saying right now, we are in GM #7 today.. A prime Radke gets the nod if I'm the skipper.

I don't think you can compare the two....

While Berrios has MUCH better stuff than Radke, Radke was the better pitcher in the sense of the word. The Eddie Harris to Berrios' Ricky Vaughn. The Muhammad Ali to Mike Tyson. The Peyton Manning to Bret Favre.

While Berrios' stuff is great, he still has a lot to learn about being a pitcher which will improve his consistency and he'll stop the "good game, good game, bad game, bad game, good game" cycle he seems to have.

If you mix Berrios' stuff with Radke's head.....watch the fuck out.

Twins played their B lineup today. I count at least 4 callups in the last week that they played tonight. Not sure what that was compared to the Sox, but I don't take too much from this game, other than there still is no answer within the team for the pen problems.

Still put up 4 runs. Should have been enough to keep it close at least but Gibson picked a shitty time to come back down to earth when they needed him the most. Only making it 4.1 innings the day after a 17 inning game is a major failure.

Didn't help that the umps are amazingly inconsistent.

Fuck that injury. We would've won the WS. I remember watching Liriano beat Roger Clemens and my Navy buddy's jaw was dropping. He said no chance we don't win the WS with him and Santana.
I remember that game like it was yesterday. That's the game EVERYONE took notice. It was Clemen's big return debut and everyone was watching the game for Clemens but 22 year old Liriano dominated for 8 innings while Clemens was "meh."

Remember that Liriano slider in 2006? My god. It was unhittable and he could throw it right on the black at 90 MPH.

But nope....Tommy John and he could never really get back to form.

Yea me too. My buddy (Dodger fan) said exactly what you did.

And it was close after the pen took over. Obviously the callup guy isnt what we are usually playing with, but its a circumstance of last night's game.

But yes, 6 runs in 4 and change innings when all we need him to do is something like 3 in 6...Gibson was definitely a problem tonight. Still don't know if the Pen could've hung on if Kyle gave something like 3 in 6. Poppen was all over the place, and getting pelted even in his first two scoreless innings. I don't think he would have been as lucky if his first two innings were the 8th and 9th, instead of the 6th and 7th.

I expect Astudillo, Arraez, and Cave all in the lineup again tomorrow. This coaching staff (rightfully so with this divisional lead) likes to be cautious with players. Just don't know if they can afford to give the BP anymore rest, but at least the beating the Mary Poppins kid took tonight was a nice sacrifice.

I would think that's a game you'd have your A lineup out for.
Put a little fear into those east coast teams.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

They're actually 2-4 vs NY and BOS

Not good. They're 14-14 vs teams above .500. That's the worst record for teams leading the division in the bigs. They're doing their job vs shit teams, so you can't be upset with that, but the pitching will not get it done in the postseason. Kinda knocks the wind out of the sails.

Cave only has 22 hits this season by the end of August. Lamont Wade Jr. is playing well in the Bay Area. Who did the Twins get for him?

Shaun Anderson, who is now on his 4th organization of the 2021 season. After we waived him, Texas waived him, Baltimore waived him and now he's in the Padres organization.

Bad trade that I'm embarrassed to say that I was ok with at the time. I knew Wade was a capable major league player, I just figured that it was a numbers game with him and the sheer amount of outfielders that we had. As it is, all of them have been hurt, ineffective, not ready or just not major league material.

LaMonte Wade would have been easily the Twins best outfielder this season and Jake Cave might be the worst of a bad bunch.
