As the weather looks threatening....I remember the 1st of these type of things the Twins did..

A young jakazz was at Bob Allison tribute night...1970 at the Met.
He was retiring at the end of the season...and they had a ceremony with gifts, etc
....
And it was pouring rain during the whole thing..

Gifts? I remember 2 things...the Twins actually gave him a camper..(remember this was Calvin)
and Ted Williams, who was the manager of Washington at the time (who the Twins were playing) gave him a fine assortment of Ted Williams sporting goods...available at Sears, Roebucks...

I won't be watching this trash, but hopefully it just fckin pours rain.

the fact that Joe mauer's number is up there with those other great players in twins history is an absolute disgrace and embarrassment. he would have been booed out of town and any other city in Major league baseball.
