would have rather had him than kimbrel. now a top gun is still in play though. and probably a couple more for the BP.

1 year 13 million. Damn. The Twins only wanted one year or two for Kimbrel. Why not beat this deal if he’s willing to go for 1 year?

Do you even have to ask?
How about this team has never made a big move in the last 30 year's.
This year reeks like 2017 but they are better. They will play 2 extra playoff games and it will be the same outcome.

Fuck.
I really wanted them to get the guy with no strikeout pitch, reduced velocity and an increasing flyball rate in the juiced ball era.
Fuck, I say.

That’s not a lot for a decent SP. Is he the guy who won the Cy Young years ago? No. But does he add depth to a rotation and kick out Pineda? Yes.

I thought the opposite. I wanted him to pitch for the Yankees and get his shit pushed in while pitching in that abomination of a stadium.KevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 9:01 pm I thought for sure the Yankees. This at least keeps him out of the AL.
The guy has nothing left. His best numbers at his age are about on par with Kyle Gibson.
Watch what happens to him in Atlanta. Please do. If he kills it, great. But he's not going to.

You nailed it...
I think I may have even made a post somewhere on this subject...
"Keuchel is a savior....Gibson is worthless.."
Gibson is actually a better pitcher at this point..
I spent a lot of time being critical of him a couple of years ago..but reality is he's solid now..
The Twins are in a lot better place than most teams as far as SP....
That's way down the "concern" list..

Exactly. Everyone gets infatuated with the next shiny object, but there are better options available via trade. I'll wait until the trade deadline before I push the panic button.

They're really likely to win the division without him, so what's the point? Does he help you get by the Yankees or Astros? Those lineups aren't really friendly toward soft-tossing lefties. Save the money for guys who can make a difference in the playoffs.KevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:15 pmThat’s not a lot for a decent SP. Re: Keuchel Gone
we'll never know if he could have given the team a strong game 3 or game 4 start. berrios gave the team pretty much everything they really needed last night-minus one or two more innings. i'd still like to see him in a game two though. so hopefully they're still in the market for a blockbuster move for scherzer or the equivalent. i don't really think greinke is that though. who else is out there that might fill the bill?feekdogg wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 6:56 amThey're really likely to win the division without him, so what's the point? Not worried at this point that the Twins didn't land these fellows. As the trade deadline nears there will be a handful of top notch pitchers available and I think we'll get a couple (think Ryan Pressly type deal). Let's not mope, let's keep watchin this wonderful season!

Lolololololol
Pathetic!
Never going to a Twins game.
I wish Cleveland was in good health so they could come back and win the division.
This piece of s*** ownership doesn't deserve a division title.
