Where are you seeing that? Says signed through 2019 at 5 million.
Dyson, 31, has posted a 2.47 ERA, 8.3 K/9, 1.2 BB/9, 0.53 HR/9, and 55% groundball rate in 51 innings for the Giants this year. Dyson’s MLB career took off after a Marlins waiver claim back in 2013, and he posted a fine 38 save campaign for the 2016 Rangers. The Giants added Dyson in a June 2017 trade. The righty is earning $5MM this year and will be under team control for 2020.

Two good relievers in this trade market was fine. I really thought they would get Stroman and I think they were surprised with the trade to the Mets. Really weird deadline. Not sure what the Mets and Cincinnati were doing this offseason. Have to think the strong favorites are LAD and Houston.

indians three games back going into tonight-the division's definitely still up for grabs. going to be a very interesting two months. they win the division i'd guess they're going to get the skanks in the division playoff series.

astros did well-and that's an understatement.

is that status quo or an improvement?
It's hard to say. Dyson is a better pitcher than I ever thought we'd get... soooo improvement?

It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

I respectively disagree- don’t think it would have taken all of those prospects. Probably just Graterol, Larnach and filler.

Graterol is a better pitching prospect than Bukauskas.

Larnach and Beer are pretty close value wise.

Dyson and Romo are good additions.

I dont think it is enough if this team truly wants to contend, but they did get better.

I am not surprised they didnt send top tier prospects for a big name pitcher because I dont think many of those teams were willing to give up a guy unless they were getting a haul back.

Grienke had us on his no trade list. doesnt matter what we offered, he wasnt coming here.

Only thing I am bummed by is not getting Stroman but seems like the Blue Jays werent listening to other deals... something weird at play because we could have got him for a lighter haul it seems like.

hope we get a stanks/twins division playoff series. could be very interesting-and at least the back end has been strengthened enough that they aren't coughing up four run leads to them in the 8th inning.

the division isn't in the bag yet by any means though.

This tweet pretty much sums up the trade deadline:

Mark Feinsand@Feinsand

The Red Sox inquired about several relievers Wednesday but were told that teams liked prospects from other clubs more than Boston's. Only way the Red Sox were getting a deal done, a source said, was "to do something stupid."

We wouldn’t be making a trade just to make one, we’d be making a trade to strengthen our chances at a World Series. He wild haven’t ever had a decent chance at a Stanley cup. Bad analogy

No, but the Indians have a tougher schedule. They need their other starters to return and pitch well. I still like the Twins chances. Unlike many on this board, I'm excited for the pennant race. Win or lose, this is a really good Twins team and their fun to watch.
