He’s 30.
Walks are up
Velocity is down
Would he be worth a big contract?

He still had 42 saves last year and 96 k's in 62 innings. 3 year, 14-16 per deal would work for me. He was the 3rd best closer in the league last year. Throw money out of the equation. The Twins need quality arms out of the bullpen.

Shooter is a hack.
Both he and Sid need to hang it up.
I couldn’t agree more.

I love the idea of having an elite closer. However, it's hard to justify $15-20 million per year for 60 innings of work.

Give me a good starter over a highly paid closer at this point. The Replacements wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 11:29 am I love the idea of having an elite closer. However, it's hard to justify $15-20 million per year for 60 innings of work.

I mean...they could do both. It's just money, and it's not my money, so might as well spend it.HeHateMe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:28 pmGive me a good starter over a highly paid closer at this point. The Replacements wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 11:29 am I love the idea of having an elite closer. I don't believe there's a good one out their. Roll the dice on a 1 year deal with Gio? Sure....HeHateMe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:28 pmGive me a good starter over a highly paid closer at this point. The Replacements wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 11:29 am I love the idea of having an elite closer. Of course, but it's someone's money and everyone has a max they are willing to spend. My expectation is a130 million payroll. They are at 117 right now so I definitely think they should move for an arm.

Bucholz signed a yr with the jays, just under 3 mil plus incentives. seems reasonable. i'm not a big fan, butt prolly would've been decent signing imo.
