Nice signing on a reasonable deal. Seems like they have insurance upon insurance for basically every position now if someone starts slow.

Now, go get Kimbrel or Keuchel.

Think I’d have taken the Cruz, Schoop and Mawrin money and signed Harper or Machado

Same but I doubt they would have taken it. I'd rather take 300 million and live in San diego

I honestly love what they have done offensively. If they get a legit pitcher, starter or reliever, I'll gladly eat my crow from earlier in the off season

RT @Ken_Rosenthal: For $48.1M guaranteed, the #MNTwins have added five free agents this offseason: M. Gonzalez (2/21), N. Cruz (1/14.3), Schoop (1/7.5), M. Perez (1/3.5) and B. Parker (1/1.8). Team also has given minor-league deals to 1B Duda, IFers Rosales and Torreyes and RPs Collins and Morin.

1. Those 3 guys cost about $45 million total. Machado's just cost $300 million. It's not apple's to apples just because they cost about the same this year.

2. Those guys fill 3 spots, and, great as they are, Machado and Harper can only play one.

3. They can still sign Harper if they want. There's no salary cap in baseball. They can do whatever they want.

4. Marwin has a ring. He knows how to get to the top. I like that.

I like the move. A bit concerned because Marwin got off to a crap start last year but I like having more versatility. Especially with some of our injury prone guys.

Still not overly excited about our pitching staff but I would assume they are done spending now.

Can we flip Adriannza for a low level prospect? He seems to be the odd man out with Marwin coming aboard.

Never really complain with twins spending money. Nice player here.

But would prefer they spent the money on an another arm instead. Maybe they still do. But need seems greater there.

Manny or Harper still would have told the Twins to pound sand.

So true. People always assume the most money will get any player to this market. There's probably countless swings and misses behind the scenes that we don't hear about.

They tried an extension before they dealt him, he said no.
Then he signed back on with the Diamondbacks before officially becoming a free agent.

Really? They've virtually had a similar career at the plate while Marwin is the better defensive player

They're very similar players actually. But the big difference is that Marwin has been on the biggest stage and came up in the clutch.

His overall numbers won't wow you, but he hit a game tying home run in the World Series to help keep Houston from going down 0-2. Kenley Jansen hasn't been the same since in terms of postseason effectiveness.

I loved it when you stuffed Ben Wallace at the rack 3 times.

I actually like what they've done on offense too. I just wish they weren't so cheap that they've virtually ignored the pitching staff.

It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

I like that Marvin can play multiple positions. He got off to a horrendous start last year. Our offense has some depth.

Good move Twins. I like the signing.

Heard a rumor that the Twins may attempt to trade Rosario for pitching because they don’t think they will be able to extend him at their price.
