Is he a good defensive player?
I asked that question to Seth Stohs, and he responded with "He's a really good hitter"

 Dam. That's not good.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

He is significantly younger than the competition. He'll be fine.

Yeah, I'm not really worried. His stats just stick out like a sore thumb for someone who (according to MLB.com) is the #4 prospect in all of MLB. I don't really follow the minors though (which is why I love this thread, and your work on it), so I'm looking just strictly at raw numbers.

this, from mlb.com
Lewis was the youngest player in the Florida State League when he got there at age 19
Goes with what you are saying about his age.

I'm big on not judging prospects til they are well into their 20's...for example, Byron is finally putting what looks like a full quality season together at the age of 25. Hicks looked lost here, then broke out with the Yankees at the age of 26. Kyle Gibson was one of our better prospects for a long time, and hasnt really been a contributor until he was like 29.

I won't write anyone prospect off until around the age of 25.

Blankenhorn is having a nice bounce back year. Turns 23 in August hitting .308 with 10 HR in AA. Sounds like he found a defensive home at 2B or LF.

Trade bait? Hes a 4a guy without a spot with the big boys. Not on 40 and will be rule 5 eligible i believe.

Very possible, it's no secret that we need to make some moves for arms. It will be interesting to see what guys they trade.

I agree with the first part, but I don't think you can be 22 years old and be designated as 4A. A year from now he could have passed Gordon for all we know, especially with the power numbers.

Thank you Rock Me.
Tortuga has started 8-11. He took his time waddling to 1st after hitting the laser out to the left field seats.
Larnach should be on the move soon now that the playoff spot has been clinched.
I wonder if Jeffers gets moved or if they keep Pensacola a Rortvedt-only locale.

I think Astudillo is AAAA player. Swinging at everything works in Rochester, but it doesn't in the bigs.
I think Trevor will be on the move sometime shortly after the All-Star break, which is next Monday through Wednesday.
I think Jeffers will eventually get moved up this year, and use one at DH sometimes.

Thanks for posting these updates.

How do you guys think the Twins view Polanco, Lewis, Arraez and perhaps Gordan for the future on the big league club?

How long before Larnach passes up Lewis in rankings? Talk about a complete pants shiting. He went from tearing the cover off the ball last year to not even being able to hit A ball pitching. Disappointing

Lewis should be fine. He just turned 20 a couple weeks ago. He might not be a phenom, but by all accounts he's got the intangibles of strong MLBer.
I'm excited by Larnach. I didn't know anything about him coming out of OSU, so I'm glad to see him raking. Will he be driving to Pensacola next week?

Glad to see Rooker coming around. I'd like to see a nice power surge for him in the second half.

Giving up on Lewis over a few bad months? The experts who are more knowledgeable than either of us are not worried.

He's 20. I also wonder if his injury to start the season is a factor.
