He will likely get 13 years and a little less than $400 million from either the Phillies or Dodgers.

Just the opposite with Harper. He almost plays too hard and will likely injury himself diving for a ball or crashing into the wall.DC4MVP wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 7:58 pmI doubt the guy would ever give 100% knowing he's literally set for life.

The Twins will have a typical Twins off season. Toss out a few quality name on twitter or via the media. Make a few mediocre offers but legit players and end up with the Sonny Grays of the world. And twin fans will slurp it up thinking they tried really really hard to sign decent players.

I think knowledgeable fans know better, and the fans who wouldn't know better dont know the difference between a Gray and a Corbin anyways.full force five wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 7:36 am The Twins will have a typical Twins off season. Which "legit" players did you want them to sign last year? Darvish, Arrieta?full force five wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 7:36 am The Twins will have a typical Twins off season. When is the last legit MLB player the Twins signed? Look at last years trash heap or 2017 can't think of any, 2016 Park, yuck. This year will be no better.

Report: Dodgers, Twins, Nats in on LeMahieu
According to Jon Paul Morosi of MLB.com, the Dodgers, Twins, and Nationals have all had at least preliminary discussions with free agent second baseman DJ LeMahieu.
The Nationals are an obvious candidate for a second baseman, as Morosi hears that the club is also monitoring the market for Jed Lowrie, Josh Harrison, and Marwin Gonzalez. The Dodgers have been mentioned as a fit for LeMahieu before while Morosi hears that the Twins have also considered Ian Kinsler for second base. LeMahieu recently won his third Gold Glove Award while batting .276/.321/.428 with 15 homers and 62 RBI over 128 games this past season. He sacrificed some patience for power and also lofted and pulled the ball more often than ever before. The Rockies recently declined to make him a qualifying offer, so his market should be strong.

I bet he's more productive than Mauer, even if he's injured for half the season.

So the Mets are closing in on a deal for Cano and Diaz, then why are they interested in trading Syndergaard?
Also, if Seattle is selling, go get Jean Segura. Now.

Re: 2018-19 Hot Stove thread
will robbie grossman ever get another 50 at bats at the major league level?
Robbie Grossman’s tenure in the Minnesota Twins outfield has come to a close.
Minnesota non-tendered Grossman on Friday, allowing the outfielder to become a free agent.
Grossman appeared in 129 games and hit .273/.367/.384 with 48 RBI and 27 doubles for the Twins in 2018. After getting off to a rough start, he turned things around midseason and logged a .411 on-base percentage after the All-Star break.
His 60 walks ranked second on the Twins last year, only trailing Max Kepler’s 71.
Over a three-year stint with the organization, Grossman notched a .266/.371/.400 slash line.

ESPN saying closer to $140M. No way I'd pay that for someone who threw that many sliders last year.

Scherzer
Strausberg
Corbin
As your top of the rotation. Yes please. That's pretty damn tough. You gotta spend the money to compete. Unless, you hit the lottery and draft 3 studs within a couple of years of each other. I expect them to offer Harper a 3 year $120 million dollar deal now. This deal most likely seals their fate with him though.
