2018-19 Hot Stove thread
Okay....
To get it started, this is legitimately interesting news..
(And considering what the Dodgers gave Kershaw today..
Kluber is a bargain financially)
Too bad the Twins really don't have much to offer in a trade...someone will do it though.
Report: Indians open to trading Kluber, Carrasco, other veterans

This could shake up the division.

Harper turned down 10/300 million from the Nats in September. That's a lot to turn down given the down season he had last year and the lack of interest free agent hitters have gotten lately.

Shouldn't the Twins have like a toaster oven or microwave thread? You know, when it's leftover time.

I don't, but I'd rather take a flyer on Garrett Richards. Dude has lethal stuff, but just can't stay healthy. I could see them overpaying old man Charlie Morton or JA Happ.Corre Ricky Corre wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 7:35 amTrust me, I believe that. The Twins need RP's so badly. They tried with Duke and Reed last season. Maybe they re visit that strategy. Some really good bullpen arms in free agency this year.

Gotta disagree. It's one more year of mid rangers like last year. Can't completely strike out again. And even though we did we got some more deadline prospects including our new first baseman.
I want to see a half a year of youth and a couple pickups. They work out and we contend. We're jst short and we can make some deadline moves with our prospects. We're out of it and we can do some serious sell off and have money to spend next year. I know I believe in our youth more than most but I've been around a long time. It;'s not the NBA where you know how good a guy can be in 2 or 3 years.

I’m totally stealing this with my friends.

Interesting thing in this article?
Apparently the Twins are expecting Sano to move to 1st despite what was always claimed b4.

Geez, the Nats botched this....shouldve made that trade.
J.B. is a heckuva prospect.
Plus from a MLB fans perspective, maybe the jerks in Boston wouldn't have won the WS with Harper in Houston.

That's a huge fail by them. He's going to walk now and they will get nothing but a draft pick. Did ownership really think that they could keep him or were they just that delusional about being in contention?jakazz30 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 3:04 pm Geez, the Nats botched this....shouldve made that trade.

If Cleveland moves Kluber, they are idiots, especially with what they already stand to lose in free agency. They'll waste a good chunk of Ramirez and Lindor in their primes just trying to get back.

And the guy they draft? Likely isn't as good as JB.
Even if they thought they were in contention, you always were playing for at best 2nd...the 4 best teams in MLB this year were all in the AL.

He actually has a damn nice contract in place for someone of his abilities..(I just don't see why you would do it)

Don't they already have young Torres/Andujar/Gregorius playing in the infield? Where would Machado or any of those other guys play if he came?

Not sure why they gave up their top prospect when they can just buy anyone they want. Paxton is good, but he is hurt a lot.Tommy_Hawk wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 4:53 pmYankees aquired Paxton..jakazz30 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 11:58 am Well here's a real surprise!!

Hopefully they stick to the plan of avoiding big $$$ free agents. Would like to see a veteran pitcher, bullpen help and short term deals on 1B and 2B.Corre Ricky Corre wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 10:00 am Are we even rumored to be in on anyone? Haven't found a thing.
