Well, props to he hardcore Twins fans that stuck with them till the end of the season. For me, it was tough to grind through consistently paying attention.

Moving on, PLAYOFF BASEBALL!

Brewers @ Cubs, 1 game playoff. I haven't seen anywhere that Brewers have announced a starter for today's 1pm EST game. Quintana is going for the Cubs. Brewers are red hot, winning 9 of last 10 games.

Rockies @ Dodgers 4pm EST. Marquez v Buehler

Glad the Brew Crew won. Only reason I will watch.

Why the fuck does MLB have a play in game on at noon on a Monday lol. They wonder why ratings have dropped.

They arent play in games. They are tie breakers.

Nice choke job Cubbies. Had it all but wrapped up a couple weeks ago. Damn Brewers are en fuego right now. Last team I’d want to face right now. I do love small market teams doing well though. Could you imagine if it’s Oakland and Milwaukee in the World Series?

Oh I didn't know that. Quit paying attention long ago when the Twins were out of it.

Loser of the Dodgers/Rockies game will play the Cubs at Wrigley tomorrow for 1 wild card game and the Yankees/A’s play the other wild card game Wednesday in New York. Looking like the Cubs will play the Rockies as they are down 5-0 in the 7th

10 feet, maybe? Doesn't take much to hit a ball 10 more feet.

the situation. he hit one off that guy before. then off the bat-i could tell he didn't get it all and it was going to be caught. not up against the wall close is my point. almost to the warning track close. i was pulling for the brewers though and felt good when i saw the outfielder get set. :coolio:

Colorado has a tough turnaround. If their speed guys can get on, you can run on Lester, but other than that, it's gonna be tough losing a tiebreaker game then going on the road for another one game playoff.

Teams do the turnaround all season. Not a huge factor in my opinion. And if the Cubs bats don’t heat up it will really be a non factor.

Yeah, but there's an extra stop in here. Denver to LA to Chicago in 48 hours.

Boy the Cubs have given up a crap load of runs in the first inning this season. You’d think they have trotted out Radke to start their games.

Terrible fucking call. What's the point of review?

Twins had some obvious calls go again at them too, and like Dick says, it'd be nice to know who's in NY making those calls.

Freeland and Lester pitched great.

I think Lester got a lucky in the first inning with the ground-rule double call which kept runners on 2nd and 3rd. Otherwise the score would be 2-0 with a runner on 3rd. His control was really shaky, but that call really saved him mentally as he got back on track by striking out the rest of the side to get out of the jam.

Oakland @ NYY tonight 8pm EST, TBS

Liam Hendricks (remember that name?) v. Severino

I'm guessing Hendricks will go 2 innings as he's not a starter? Melvin likely to use bullpen all game since he doesn't really have an "Ace".

Last meeting just over a week ago, the A's hammered Severino in Oakland. Yankees are favored tonight -177, playing in the Bronx might have something to do with that.

Go Oakland

Severino has not been very good 2nd half of the year. I'd toss fat old CC out there before him.

An A's World Series victory would be a nightmare for Vegas book makers

Las Vegas sportsbook makers are keeping their fingers crossed as Major League Baseball's playoffs get underway.

What they are hoping to see is the Oakland Athletics eliminated early.

There's no mystery here. The A's had the longest odds going into the season of any of the playoff teams. As ESPN notes, as late as June MGM sportsbooks listed them as 250-1 underdogs to win the Series.

But bettors took one look at the risk vs. reward and saw an opportunity.

"We have just a slew of $5 and $10 tickets anywhere between 100-1 and 250-1 [on the A's]," Jay Rood, MGM vice president of race and sports, told ESPN.

The MGM bets also include a couple of high-dollar World Series wagers from June — a $1,000 bet at 250-1 and a $1,000 at 125-1. Should the A's take the Series, the MGM would be on the hook for $250,000 and $125,000 payouts, respectively.
