MLB trade discussion.......Its on!
Dozier at this point?
In a trade situation you would have to look at contending teams that need a 2B.
Which teams really need someone posting his kinda #s?

Re: What can the Twins even get for....
If they had no luck in the offseason with a contract offer or even worse not offering him one, then it's on the Twins for not having the foresight to trade him in the offseason when his value was very high. Gordon is looming, etc. Now they'll either trade him at the deadline for a single A lefty with "upside", or a double AA reliever, or let it ride all season like past stars who've came and went with nothing in return.

Call Arizona and St.Louis. take what you can get. They have enough middle infielders. Dozier had a place here, but that ship has sailed.

How about waiting for the trade deadline and see where the team is in the standings before making a move?

Let's see....
Playing like crap.
Has said he'll go free agent after this year.
Trading deadline is next month.
Seems like a legit question.

Re: What can the Twins even get for....
The way I read it is that Qman wants to wait and see how the team is doing before trading Dozier.
My point is he needs to be dealt no matter how the team is doing.

Qman just wants to disagree with me..
He has to be traded...saying he's going to be a FA kinda ends this relationship.

Why? His value is so low right now that you aren't going to get anything significant for him. I say just QO him at the end of the season and hope some team gives him a contract so we can get a draft pick.
Otherwise, he ends up like Moustakas and comes back with his tail between his legs at a discount.

Definitely agree. They missed the boat last summer on this trade. The draft pick may be better value now.Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:26 pmWhy? Re: MLB trade discussion.......Its on!
Trade Doz, and Sano for all I care. Target a real MLB-ready starting Catcher, and pitching.
Dozier has had too many consistent seasons now for his value to be rock bottom. If anything, his desire to leave after the season is more of a hindrance on his value than his performance, IMO.
Sano? Idk what to make of the guy. As a fan, I hate watching guys strikeout all the time, and he's one that does. Hit the ball, and put it into play.
Maybe Rodney could fetch a mid-level prospect for a team that needs an 7-9 inning guy like Kintzler last year.

Pennies on the dollar for those two right now. I'd rather just keep them.Tommy_Hawk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:50 pm Trade Doz, and Sano for all I care. Target a real MLB-ready starting Catcher, and pitching.

No one has offered anything substantial for Dozier so they didn't miss the boat. Twins will qualify him, Dozier will decline and he will sign a 1 year deal less than $10 million.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:28 pmDefinitely agree. I think the Twins could still get a mid level prospect or two for old Doozie. Although, I think the time to move him was last offseason when he had good value. Now, he's avg at best. Good luck on the open market there Dooozier.

Can't sell low on Sano, that's stupid. He is still young.
Not sure what do with Dozier, I don't think you get much at this point for him. Do you resign him?

Re: MLB trade discussion.......Its on!
I think you can get plenty for both. Yes, of course the best offers for each player would come when they are playing their best. But, if they are playing their best, why would you trade them unless they flat-out tell you they are leaving, like in Basketball.
Say you are the SF Giants, or the Diamondbacks, or Mariners, or the Angels, you wouldnt trade good prospects for Sano? Really? Theres not a manager out there who thinks "I can fix him"? C'mon...

Well, in that case, with the way things are going the Twins would be foolish not to trade him and at least get something.jakazz30 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 5:33 pmhttp://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2265 ... sota-twinsTommy_Hawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 6:15 am I think you can get plenty for both. The QO will probably be in the $17M range (mean salary of the top 125 in MLB)Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:26 pmWhy? Nobody is giving Dozier that kinda money.

He might think that they will. Worst case scenario he takes the offer and we have him for another year. There is a ton of money coming off the books.jakazz30 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 1:11 pmThe QO will probably be in the $17M range (mean salary of the top 125 in MLB)Sidewinder2k2 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:26 pmWhy? Re: MLB trade discussion.......Its on!
At the peak of Dozier's trade value, he was supposedly getting us that Jose De Leon guy from the Dodgers...just looked him up, oof, he's bad too. Twins really havent missed out on much by keeping Dozier. That said, with the way this team looks, you still look to deal him...maybe you can get a Mejia type who's called up once in a blue moon to get a start.
Resigning is probably a bad idea...wrong end of age 30, trending downward quickly, no other position to move him to.

Eduardo would be good trade bait. All time high on trade value and loaded with prospects at the position.
Not sure how much we could expect in return though. Not so long ago, the Twins had another Eduardo who was in a similar position (peak season, soon to be free agent, approaching 30), and all he landed us was Mejia.

If he keeps pitching solidly, Lynn probably has the most value.
