Draft: Perfetti, Quinn or bust.

2 little guys who can find the net.

Europe players may not be able to cover over this year. Wont effect Stutzle, but wonder hope Holtz and Raymond drops a spot or two.

Lundell looks like another Ek. Solid 2 way guy without much offensive potential.

Fingers crossed a 2nd Dman gets drafted in top 8.

Players like Ek are useful, but is a player with his limited ceiling really what we should be targeting in the top half of the first round? For that matter, not to toot my own horn, but that was my issue with Ek the day we drafted him. There are plenty of two-way forwards with zero NHL level offensive acumen to be found after the first round. Get those players then, or get them as throw in's on bigger trades, or get them in free agency.

Makes a great case.
To trade for Anthony Cirelli
Which has been a hot rumor for the Rangers lately.

So 35 year old Staal for 29 year of Johannson.

Both have 2 years left on their contract. Staal 3.250. Johansson 4.500.

I don't know anything about Johnnson....can one of you "experts" give me urinalysis on him?

Is Johannson even good? Staal was cheaper and still a decent producer.

He had a whopping 30 points this season. Nothing earth shattering

This one is a bit of a head scratcher. If playoffs is the goal. There's just zero down side to Stall, even near his end. Perfect locker room type leader, productive, cheap.

Johansson isn't a bad player at all. Does have speed and snaps off a nice puck and all. Just without an extra year on his deal or a pick, didn't seem to add up to Stall.

Very much hats off to Stall, a pros pro.

The scariest thing about the Wild right now is the FAN APATHY that is happening. This thread is a month old and has less than 20 posts. You're going to see games with 10,000 people at them in the next few years at the rate they're going, especially with what this team tries to charge per ticket...

Well, to be honest the participation here has been quite weak since the new RC began. Only about 4-5 somewhat regular posters and since the Wild got bounced from the playoffs long ago I get it. Gotta remember we got that Russian kid next season and we have seen what Fiala can do. I'm at least mildly excited!

Johansson sucks, he’s injury prone, he’s more expensive, and barely much younger than Staal for age itself to be a good reason for the trade. This makes little sense from both a short and long term perspective.

The only way this trade makes any sense is if both teams know that Staal plans on retiring...

If that's the case then I'm curious as to when the season would end and at what point would an NHL season begin at it's normal date?

I'd think they would try and most the games with less breaks next season to try and get back on track somewhat, but likely the season would go later into the spring/summer again. By the season after next they should be back to a normal schedule (Covid permitting)
