Must be a lot of fun to be a Blues fan right now, and it really does feel like it's finally their turn. My question is when will it be the Wild's (or Vikings or Twins) turn?
it looks like it's a series and it'd be great if that fan base was able to celebrate a stanley cup. they've been pretty good fans through all the ups and downs-including a very good chance for that franchise to fold if i'm remembering correctly. bernie federko days i think.

GO BLUES!

I disagree.

This is a 6-7 game series. Stl was sloppy too. Both teams played a “c” game.

Taraseynko had a terrible game and wasn’t mentally checked in at all. Once he gets dialed in (he will
Have a great game 2-Berube is gonna get at him) the Blues could take game 2 in BOS.
I should start charging for my hockey takes.

Also, I think Marchand is significantly hurt. Something will come out on him that he's hiding-injury wise once this is done.

He wants nothing to do with his normal "style" of play. The Blues D-men are big suckers and the way Marchand plays you've got to strap up and stay strapped all game. He's not even close to his game right now. And them Big Blues D aren't giving him an inch.

STL's forecheck is one of the best I've seen in a long while. Add in a getting-slower-by-the-day-Chara, who is also hurting, this thing is tilted STL right now. So long as the Binnington wheels don't fall off....STL could roll this thing quick.

BOSTON – The Bruins seemed to breathe a little easier following their scrimmage at TD Garden on Thursday night as they managed to get out of their intra-squad practice without suffering any injuries. There was a scare, of course, as it looked like Bruins winger Brad Marchand jammed his left hand during the first half of the scrimmage after colliding with Connor Clifton, and left the B’s bench for some time afterward.

But Marchand returned to assist on a goal in the 5-3 final score and was no worse for the wear following the game, according to Bruce Cassidy.

“Injury risk was our biggest concern. It will be [also on] Saturday when we practice at our normal time, and Sunday obviously. You keep your fingers crossed, but [Marchand is] fine,” said Cassidy. “He just bumped into [Connor] Clifton in front of the net and jammed his – I don’t know what he jammed – his hand or something. So kept playing, and he was fine. There was no issue there.”

Binnydong wasn’t having a good night.

Blues forecheck is still the best I’ve seen of Stanley cup teams in recent memory.

Look for this one to turn ugly and fun.

home ice is always a tricky thing in the nhl playoffs. a rabid base looking for the home team to take control of the series and they get that? that said i suspect it will be 2-2 going back to boston.

Blues lose this series look no further than special teams. Their powerplay and penalty kill have been putrid. Bruins tie it up with a shorty

Blues look great per usual....

Binnington looks horrible per usual. Angles are horrible and he’s slow to react. The shorty was all his fault. This dude is a one hit wonder.

I feel like you speak in absolutes and overreact a lot.

You can have a shitty special teams lul and still win a series.

The blues are outskating the bruins all over the ice.

They’ve had 3-4 minute shifts in the o-zone/attack zone.

Being 0-3 on the PP is small beans compared to dominating 5 on 5.

That shorty was binnys fault. He was out too far, rebound was horrible, slow to react and didn’t know the weak side guy was flying down the ice hence is aggressive angle.

5-5 this series is 70-30 blues no less than 60-40.

I said if they lose the series the blame can be put on special teams. No doubt they are the better 5 on 5 team.

Blues in 6
Boston in 4
Lack of special teams blues will lose
Blues give up a shorty and don’t score on the PP and win 4-2
Blues in 6

Your all over the map Jimtown! I blame Too much wild watching, tricking your hockey brain. I know it’s in there!

Yes, stick with your original take. The Blues are overwhelming BOS right now. If Binny holds up, your "Blues in 6" could be spot on!

HNL Recap:

-Chara is a tough SOB, he's so beat up. Puts the I-Tech on, but doesn't go back out, very telling.

-Blues fore-check is bee-hive-like swarming. Never seen a team with Forwards so committed to the forecheck and disrupting D-men. Love the style

-Marchand showed signs of life with his antics a couple times, but nothing too Marchand like, he's hiding an injury.

- Blues multiple minute shifts in the attack zone is killer (ala their relentless attack-style forecheck) drains the life out of teams. Like body blows in a boxing match, they add up. With BOS down to so few D-men too....yikes those are crazy long shifts stuck in the zone.

-Binnington is gonna the main factor in STL winning this Cup

The Boston Bruins were leaning on their physicality, experience, and defense in their Stanley Cup Finals matchup against the St. Louis Blues. However, their most physical and battle-tested operator could now be out for the rest of the series.
According to Boston sports radio host Christian Fauria, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara will be forced to miss the remainder of the NHL's championship series due to a broken jaw sustained after taking a puck off his face in Game 4.

That was a pretty bad missed call for sure especially when it leads to the eventual winning goal. Not the first time that has happened and won’t be the last. But hey at least it was the Bruins who got screwed not the Blues :D
