Blue Jackets taking it to the Bolts. It’s early but 2-0 with 7 to go in first

Anyone predict the Isle and Jackets would be up 2 games to none? Yeah neither did I

Not sure if statistics back this up, but of all the major sports it seems that the lower seeds win more of these series in hockey. That's why ya just gotta make the playoffs to have a shot....home ice just simply doesn't mean all that much.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 9:33 pm Anyone predict the Isle and Jackets would be up 2 games to none? Exactly why the Stanley Cup playoffs is the best post season out there. An 8 seed has just a good of chance of winning it all as a 1 seed. It’s been proven in the pastHornets wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 10:39 amNot sure if statistics back this up, but of all the major sports it seems that the lower seeds win more of these series in hockey. Orpik ends it in a hurry in overtime for the Caps. Caps up 2 games to none.

I’ll be shocked if the Pens don’t win this one. So shock me Islanders
Hobey Baker winner Cale Makar will join the Avs tomorrow for game 3 against the Flames. Kid is a hell of an offensive defenseman

Trotz has those Islanders playing their best puck at the right time. Pens looked lethargic today. They play like that in game 4 it’s a sweep

Whoever bet Columbus to sweep the series has a difficult choice to make. Hedge or no?

Re: 2019 Stanley Cup playoff thread
Roenick has made a career out of not being afraid to speak his mind, here is what he said in the postgame:
"Tampa is the only team in the playoffs to not elevate their game from where it was in the regular season. The only one. They won the regular season by over twenty points on cruise control and are still playing as if they are on cruise control."
First time they have lost 3 in a row all year. Kind of a bad time to do it now

one of the great things about the nhl is that something like that can happen. no roster lock ups.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 11:15 am I’ll be shocked if the Pens don’t win this one. So shock me Islanders

Boy the Pens looked lethargic yesterday. Trotz can flat out coach. Hope they finish them off tomorrow and don’t let them have a sniff of hope.weimy froob wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 7:59 amone of the great things about the nhl is that something like that can happen. no roster lock ups.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 11:15 am I’ll be shocked if the Pens don’t win this one. Swap in the Wild for either or Leafs/Bruins, After that game 2. The Wild, the fanbase, the media, Russo, Nanne, etc... Would have called Bettman and all at the league office and threaten to quit the playoffs or make sure the refs don't let any future games get as "mean". LOL.
Please play close attention to this series MN hockey fans. This is a MAN/ALPHA series. The NHL Playoffs require MAN/ALPHA teams to advance in the NHL playoffs, if you don't advance, clearly in the case of these two teams (Leafs/Bruins) they died trying.
Tavares hits your goalie, you go and throw him. Kadri, gets kneed (even tho he deserves everything he gets), you go and IMMEDIATLEY give a ribshot to the guy that kneed him. Marleau gets checked into the dasher, you cross-check the guy that did it- in the face and if you decide to take it that far (cross check to the face), The Bruins big bad Alpha D-man will come and throw you like a child and tell you that you are "done" next time "I see you".
These are things the WILD can't, haven't, won't and don't do.
What a beautiful series this is.

Could we have an Avs vs Jackets final? It’s been that kind of playoffs so far and I wouldn’t be one but shocked.

I'm conditioned to hate the Avs, but they are must-see TV right now. How I'd love to support a team that plays fast and fun hockey!Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 8:55 am Could we have an Avs vs Jackets final? It’s been that kind of playoffs so far and I wouldn’t be one but shocked.

No doubt. McKinnon has found another gear as has most the team but it’s just ridiculous with him. I too despised the Avs 4-5 years ago but it’s hard not to line them. Line you said they are fun to watch.Lenny5160 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:01 amI'm conditioned to hate the Avs, but they are must-see TV right now.
