If it's for Fiala that is pretty gross return!

Fiala and or Ryan Hartman would be decent return for Granny, assuming a pick would need to added. You are also dumping 5.8 million next year. Look this current group has done nothing in the playoffs. I'm fine with rebooting and having some financial freedom.

Nah, he said he might get traded there, he didn't say he was going there.

Brassard for a 3rd? Doesn't bode well for a Staal trade with nice return you'd think?

I hope they keep Staal and sign him for a 1 or 2 year deal for like 3 million per. He works hard and is a center.

Elliotte Friedman reported that the Bruins were looking into Staal. I'm sure Staal will make that difficult.

I'm starting to think Granny and Zucker will both be moved.

Yeah, buckle up I think Stone is going to Vegas. The Wild guys should garner plenty of interest over the next 50 mins!

He really needs to bounce back to what he was. I’m not sure that he can, but I really liked what he used to bring to this team.

I guess I'm not willing to count 3 games as a streak, at least for the purposes of deciding to make changes or not.

I'm really on the fence with Granny, but it depends on what would be coming back. He has great vision, but has trouble when the game gets physical.

Really sounding like Granlund to Nashville for something including Fiala.

The Nashville Predators have acquired forward Mikael Granlund from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Kevin Fiala.

Fiala is a pending restricted free agent and has 10 goals and 22 assists in 64 games for the Predators this season.

Sounds like it straight up for Fiala who is basically a shittier version of Jason Zucker. Gross!

Gross. Fiala has taken a major step back this season. He’s young enough but played enough games in the league that he should be getting better not worse. His offensive stats are pedestrian at best and he’s a minus player (he may even lead their team in that category) playing on one of the best teams like the league. Fenton still has a hard on for a guy because he overshot for him when he drafted him 11th overall a few years ago and just can’t accept that he wasn’t worthy of being taken that high so he’s doubling down.

You're not wrong, but he is also coming back from a major injury.

Only thing I can think of it’s a financial move for the future because otherwise this trade is lopsided big time

The Wild will have major room on the cap this summer. Just dumped 5.8 million for next year. Granny is going to blow up in Nashville with that line-up and guys that can finish. On the fence with this move.

Don't know a thing about Fiala but am glad Fenton didn't let this latest little hot streak influence his decision making. Granny was a great guy and wish him nothing but success as he moves on.

No way this deal wouldn't have been there in the offseason. This is clearly Fenton doing his pals in Nashville a favor and loading them up for a cup run. Granlund is going to do their Powerplay wonders!

That 5.8 will be nice.

Granny drove me nuts many times on the power play. Way too much perimeter time wasting, not really setting up actual shots. Sometimes he did look good, maybe a move from the Wild’s look but don’t shoot culture will help him.
