So here it is...the last game of the year. Well, at least the calendar year. Always fun to watch the stars of the NHL make an appearance at "The X" and Sid the Kid is here today! Should be a rockin New Years Eve crowd and I'll try to watch most of it....what the hell else is a 50+ gentleman supposed to do on a night like tonight?

The Wild host a New Year’s Eve game almost every season and they almost always seem to lose them. Having said that Wild actually played a decent period but of course trail going into intermission. Pittsburgh’s been playing well ever since they turned their season around with that win over the Wild (of course) a couple of weeks ago so it is imperative that they Wild figure out a way to get the next goal.

Pretty decent effort and they probably deserved better but when they've put themselves in as poor a situation as they have moral victories aren't gonna cut it. At the end of the day they lost another home game in regulation. That's all that happened in the game today.

And it was a good effort. But once again this team lacks a finisher. That second period alone should of produced at least 2 if not 3 goals. Frustrating to say the least
