Can’t give away points like that in this division. 5 Central Division teams played last night and they all got points. The Blackhawks have been due for a regulation win for quite some time. Hopefully it’s not their turn tomorrow because if it is two or even one point tonight would have made me feel much better about their week.

Sadly yes. For as impressive as they’ve been they’ve let 3-4 games like this that were in the bag get away and we’re just 1/4 through the season. More alarming still is most if not all of them have happened in their house. In any other division it’s not big deal but in the Central Division games like tonight have to get closed out.

Just got back from the game and what a bummer. There was a confident buzz amongst fans as we took that 2-0 lead but despite numerous good chances couldn't put the Sabres away and let them hang in there...Arena was DEAD the last period and a half and maybe the 5pm start had somethin to do with it. Overall just kind of a yucky game and if we lose to Da Hawks tomorrow all of a sudden that wonderful road trip turns into a distant memory. Can't believe I'm saying this, but we missed Erickson Ek !!

Yep. On the three game homestand the Wild faced one good but underachieving team, two mediocre at best teams (say what you want about the improvement to Buffalo, the fact is the Wild were -230 favorites which by NHL standards is on the fringes of being loserproof), and didn't face a starting caliber goaltender in any of the three games (two backups, and one 3rd stringer). With that in mind they managed to grab just 2 of the 6 points available. I'll say it again, the Hawks are due for a regulation win and Doobs started tonight so they've already fired that bullet for the 48 hours. This division is just too difficult to be giving away points like they did tonight. Also, even with Washington and Winnipeg, this might be the softest 3 weeks they'll have in the schedule all season and it's not off to a great start. Every team goes through stretches like this and it's still way too early to panic, but the nice cushion they built for themselves has slightly eroded and it would be prudent to make sure that it doesn't go beyond that for the time being.Hornets wrote: ↑Sat Nov 17, 2018 8:50 pm Just got back from the game and what a bummer.
