Clifford fined for kneeing Greenway
I would have preferred a suspension, but this will do. Clifford is a scumbag, no surprise that he's on a team that was largely built by Darryl Sutter.

That could of been season ending. Should of been a suspension. Now Greenway gets sent down to Iowa. Probably a good thing.

Wait....what? Down to IA? Hmmm. I agree it's a good thing and sure is disappointing that he wasn't able to get off to a good start and really help this team. Just seems really hesitant like he's afraid to make a mistake instead of gettin after it and using his size to be a difference maker. Who's takin his place?Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 6:24 pm That could of been season ending. Should of been a suspension. Now Greenway gets sent down to Iowa. Probably a good thing.

Sounds like it is merely a procedural move to get him some more game action before the big road trip next week. Ek presumably will take his spot for Saturday's home game against the Divealanche. For all of his limitations Ek does skate pretty well and will probably be more useful in that particular matchup.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 6:24 pm That could of been season ending. Speaking of the road trip, if I could ask a dumb question.
The Wild have 7 road games in a row including San Jose on Tues, LA on Thursday and Anaheim on Friday. Does the NHL try to do that so a team could stay on the West coast for all of those days and games? Or did it just work out that way?

Absolutely intentional. That's not to say that every team that goes out there plays those three teams each trip, it's usually some combination of those three in conjunction with Vancouver, AZ, Vegas and to a lesser degree Calgary, Edmonton, and Colorado. It might just be for a couple of games or it might be for 7+ like the Wild are about to do. On the reverse side, you'll often notice that many of those teams, especially the Cali teams will often be on road trips at the same time making it easier for the schedule makers to ensure many of home games closely overlap for the same reasons. Having said that, a 7 game road trip is somewhat unusual.Chuck North wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 6:56 pm Speaking of the road trip, if I could ask a dumb question.
