***Coyotes @ Wild (10/16/18)***

Let's see if a GTD started by me can get this thing headed in the right direction.

To say the very least this is a game the Wild need to have badly. On the flip side, I'm sure the Coyotes have been eyeing this one for awhile as a winnable road game against a mediocre at best Wild club. For whatever it's worth, the Wild didn't have much success against AZ (or any other Western Conference bottom feeder for that matter) last season. Looks like Darcy Kuemper is getting the cage for AZ in a perfect spot for a revenge game win for him and his club. Will the Wild come out flat and get blitzed in the 1st period for the 6th time in 6 games or will they actually show some spine for once in this young season? Stay tuned.......

Wild don't show up yet again and not surprisingly get blitzed for the 6th time in 6 games in the first period, this time by a bad AZ team. They only trail 1-0 though and it could easily be tied but Zucker whiffed on a yawning net.

Wouldn’t say they are bad. They average 37 shots a game which is 6th and only allow 23 per game which is 1st. Young team with a ton of speed. Totally opposite of the Wild.

Edit: Yotes have been shutout 3 of their 4 games. They may get a lot of shots but only 3 have found the back of the net so far.

Bad may have been slightly too strong a word, but even if they aren't a bad team they a still a ways from being a good one.

Kuemper playing out of his ass tonight. He’s made some huge saves.
They seem to have a good future though. Very green yet and will only get better.

Good job Ron! You keep these GDT's going until we lose!

Not the prettiest win I've ever seen but I'll take them any way we can get them right now. Nice to see Dubnyk rewarded for a game well played.

They got blitzed in the first period like I was afraid of, but they also showed enough spine to dig deep and get this one in the win column. I'll keep the GTD's coming.

Both goalies came up big. That Perlini dude is fun to watch. And he’s only 22. Looks to have a pretty good future.

Wild are where they were last year at this time. Wild were 4-4-2 in October last year.

Perlini has a nice skill set, but I think Keller is the young guy on that team that has the brightest future. Other than those two I'm not terribly enamored with the rest of their young players. For being as bad as they've been for as long as they've been I'd expect more if I were a Yotes fan.

a win is a win, but would have liked a more convincing one at home vs a bad team.
