Funny that it came the day after they won a game. They did the right thing adding Kovalchuck to give them some more scoring punch, but it hasn't worked. With Quick out for another month or so it may be difficult for them to climb back into this thing, but the fact that they are in the Pacific Division rather than the Central gives them a small chance I suppose.

The Chicago Blackhawks have relieved Joel Quenneville of his coaching duties and have named Jeremy Colliton the 38th head coach in franchise history.

Even a guy with 3 rings with the Hawks isn’t safe. Gotta believe Yeo is next unless they turn it around all of a sudden. If Yeo gets the ax then I can see Quennevillele go there

Pretty ridiculous. The team just isn't an elite team anymore and for whatever reason Stan Bowman and his minions can't accept reality as far as that is concerned. Maybe Bowman should fire himself for that asinine Panarin for Brandon Saad trade a couple summers ago?

If I'm not mistaken Quenneville was the coach of the Blues way back when the Wild were playing their inaugural season.

That's some pretty impressive company. One of the few players still playing that was around in the Wild's inaugural season. Others that come to mind are Patrick Marleau and Matt Cullen.

 That mascot is so weird!

It looks like it's gunna try and rape me.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

The Edmonton Oilers have fired head coach Todd McLellan and replaced him with Ken Hitchcock, Sportsnet has confirmed.
The swap at head coach will be the only change behind the Oilers bench.
The move comes after a poor run that has seen the Oilers lose six of their past seven games, including a pair of tough results this past weekend against the Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights.
McLellan, 51, finishes his tenure in Edmonton with a record of 123-119-24 in 266 regular-season games over three-plus seasons behind the bench. Outside of a trip to the post-season in 2016-17, McLellan’s time with the Oilers has been a disappointment given the talent the team boasts – most notably Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
McLellan was hired in May 2015 by general manager Peter Chiarelli after seven seasons with San Jose Sharks, where he led the team to six playoff appearances and three division titles.

Ken Hitchcock has 100 NHL coaching lives.

I do like em' tho. I love people crying "he's not a good fit. He will make Connor play D!"

Yeah that's gonna suck to have a more well-rounded 2-way- Connor McD.

Laine drops 5 on the Blues and is the 3rd player this century to accomplish a 5 goal feat. Our pal Gabby being 1 of said 3. Hate the Jets, but they're gonna be competitive for a while if he can stay healthy.

Happy for this guy though.

OK, you'll doubt this but I went to school with and dated a gal who was a flight attendant on Detroit Red Wing flights. Saw her at a reunion several years back and holy smokes she had some stories to tell about Probert and Kocur (who she dated for awhile). CRAZY times in the NHL and can't wait to see this documentary....thanks for sharing it!

Really looking forward to it. It will be released in Canada first then here in the states. Probert was a beast and one of the top 5 badasses of all time if not the baddest.

I have crazy respect for the guys back "in those days". The 90's NHL was the peak for me. You had the skill game and the tough guy-Fighter game mixed together. I know there is remnants of the 80's in this Doc too.

Like Chelios said in the preview about knowing a guy in on Cocaine and then having to fight/play against them etc. Having to step out on that ice alone took pure balls. I've known about the cocaine and drug use back then, definitely has cleaned up now, just a crazy time to be playing hockey period.

Theo Fleury comes to mind from those cocaine days. His documentary is eye opening also. I was raised in the 60’s and 70’s NHL era. Loved it. How times have changed.
