I love MLB opening day, I love NFL opening weekend, but nothing is better than when hockey's back!

With his past history I wonder if 40 games would have been better.....next time it will be. :pissed:

I think this will get his attention, if it doesn't he won't be in the league too much longer. Had it been slightly more malicious maybe more than 20 would have been justified, but 20 sounds about right to me considering it is 1/4 of the season. On the NHL network this afternoon they showed his last 4 suspension hits and three of them where against the Blues which of course they only play twice a season. How strange is that?

That game got ugly fast for the Bruins. Was nice to see Oshie start off the scoring. Pregame had a nice little thing on TJ and his Dad on NBCSN. Glad to see TJ repping his favorite place: Warroad :-)

On a side note - I could look at Kathryn Tappen all day long.

That Caps game was such an obvious pick. Coming off a Stanley Cup, and they get to play at home, you knew they were going to be fired up. I didn't see 7-0 happening, but I did place a bet on them.

Candiens almost pulled a big upset, but one minute into OT, Mathews was all like "fuck this."

Vegas only one win in it's first four games, the lone win of course came generously at the expense of the Wild who not surprising to anyone allowed Vegas to finish in job in the extra session after failing to hold a 1-0 lead with 90 seconds to play. On a related note, Fluery has been torched in all of those games, except against the Wild.

Vegas had a cute little first season and I for one wouldn't mind seeing them crash and burn this season!

Another regulation loss for the Knights tonight. 4+ goals allowed again, although this time it was Malcom Subban performing poorly in the cage.

I still think their lack of a bona fide high end blueliner could eventually hurt them in a long playoff run, but right now it's tough not to be pretty impressed. If I were them I'd be looking to put a package together with the main piece being Nylander to see what they could get to help in that area.

That and they aren’t the most physical team. That could hurt them in a long playoff run. Right now though they are so damn fun to watch. Matthews already with 9 goals.

I was watching this game live. Sid is some kind of player to say the least. I get that is was Sid and I get that Strome is a forward, but if he is going to continue to be a bust of a 1st round pick, he's got to be better than that. Sid took him for a walk and he was flailing around like a JV 4th liner.

As far as Edmonton goes, they are starting to remind me of the Packers of the NHL, the only thing keeping them from being one of the worst teams in the league is one player, only difference is no hockey player, even McDavid can impact the game as much as Rodgers can. That team is a trainwreck, besides McDavid they have one other good player (Draisaitl).

Watched the third and ot. Why the hell is Lucic with McDavid and Draisaitl? He’s damn near as slow as Koivu. Maybe he was just with them when I watched but he does not belong on that line.

It is dumb to have Lucic out there with them, if it was 1990 maybe not, but the game is different now. I'm sure the Oilers would just point to McDavid's point totals with Lucic on the ice with him as the reason ignoring the fact that you could put me out there with McDavid and he'd still probably lead the league in scoring. Very little the Oilers have done the past two decades has made any sense whatsoever so who knows? Can you imagine if they hadn't given away Taylor Hall (who won the Hart trophy last season as league MVP) for a 2nd pairing defenseman?

How can you get excited about new season that will end up just like last year? One and done or maybe not even that.

A Blues fan put this on Jeremy Rutherford's twitter (he's the Blues version of Michael Russo) following their 7-4 loss to the Bluejackets tonight.

Thought having a player like Tarasenko would've allowed Yeo to take the Blues farther than he did the Wild, but it looks like his message is getting lost yet again. Can't say I've seen any of the Blues games, but it looks like Jake Allen is in 2014-2015 Darcy Kuemper form.
