Rate my draft

Post by Night Train »

So we did keepers this year, we're allowed to keep on player from last year and I chose Melvin Gordon over Michael Thomas and Davante Adams, so basically Gordon was my first pick in the first round (5th pick). League is PPR and we start a QB, RB, RB/WR flex, 2 WR, a RB/WR/TE flex, a TE, Def and kicker (9 starters, 7 bench). Here's my team and picks by round:

1. Gordon (RB)
2. Odell Beckham Jr. (WR)
3. Royce Freeman (RB) was worried he wouldn't make it around to me again
4. Kenyan Drake (RB)
5. Allen Robinson (WR) He's the Bear's number one, right?
6. Marshawn Lynch (RB) Please be a TD hog
7. Randall Cobb (WR) I feel I'm losing control at this point, WRs I wanted were dropping fast
8. Trey Burton (TE) hearing lots of good things about him, may be a sneaky TE pick
9. Andrew Luck (QB) was happy with this one, this could be huge for me if he stays healthy
10. Robby Anderson (WR)
11. Philly Def - Rams picked before me, and MN after me. I should've taken MN
12. Rashad Matthews (WR)
13. Alex Smith (QB) not bad insurance in case Luck doesn't return to glory, but coulda waited for someone else I could use for plug and play
14. Gostkowski (K)
15. Sproles (RB) I don't know why, I just did. It's his swan song season so why not?
16. Vance McDonald (TE)

QBs - Luck and Alex Smith
RBs - Melvin Gordon, Royce Freeman, Kenyan Drake, Lynch, Sproles
WRs - OBJ, Allen Robinson, Cobb, Robby Anderson, Rashad Matthews
TEs - Trey Burton, Vance McDonald
Def - Philly
K - Gostkowski

I have to say I'm not crazy about your team. I do like WIlson and maybe Landry, other than those nothing really pops out at me. Hope Freeman stays healthy and doesn't split too much with Coleman, same for Kamara when Ingram returns. Ertz's health scares me too. Go Beast Mode though, I hope he gets a shit ton of goal line looks.

Gordon, Beckham, Royce, A-Rob, & Robby-A are your five starters. Hopefully they sort out Robby Anderson's possible suspension soon. Big dice roll on Luck but I like him this year.
Cobb will be more tempting than Anderson but I think that will be a mirage.

Not a bad team. You should be fighting for the playoffs.

sorry bro. I don't love yoru bench WR's. Benjamin does nothing for me, nor does Ty Montgomery. Wilson/Kamara will set you up to win plenty of games tho.
You need to work the wire and shore up that bench. A backup defense?!? Why Matt Ryan?

I really like Melvin Gordon(have had him and Gurley a few years running but not this year) and the Freeman pick looks pretty promising. Not a huge fan of OBJ personally but you can't deny him. Hoping Robinson does well as I took him in the Froob Chat Dynasty league, so naturally I like the pick. Burton should have a great year and can't go wrong with Philly D.

Seriously though, I like Brees.. he's won me my league on at least two occasions.. I have him in the Dynasty league. I was so close to taking Collins but couldn't pass up on another guy, can't remember who. I love that pick. Hoping Baldwin has a big year, like the pick. Also like the Saints D and kicker.. obviously.

I'm counting on Wilson having another huge year as I think they're going to be in a lot of shootouts. Landry is a great receiver, hopefully getting away from Miami allows him to flourish. Freeman quietly puts up a ton of points year after year.. but you're right about his health. Kamara is my boy, glad I was able to pick him up. Ertz was pure class for me last year, outside of a few missed games. Hoping Lynch can contribute.

Ty Montgomery was drafted as a RB lol. I already dropped him in favor of Rob Kelley. RB depth in my league got thin fast. They went heavy early on. I have Benjamin at least twice before, hoping this is the year he finally realizes his potential. I figure it can't hurt to have two top QBs.. Ryan was available really late. I also don't entirely trust the NO D.. so Atlanta is backup.

Not a lot of depth, but you're going to be dropping guys all season anyway. Depth is overrated. I think Lynch could be a nice sleeper.

Nice job. Henry needs to capitalize on his talent and earn the lions share if carries from Lewis. If he can't Ingram will be an excellent guy to have when he gets back.

I like this team. Only 13 rounds? I'm a little worried about Henry though, he had a chance to show something when Murray retired but didn't show much, other than that I think you're solid. We're both banking on Luck.

Auction, no ppr
Left ourselves very thin at WR, but knowing which WR gets 9 TDs vs who gets 6 is a crapshoot.
My only target was Fournette - 3rd most touches in just 13 games last year.

T Brady
S Barkley
L Fournette
B Cooks
C Hogan
M Lynch
D Walker
C Boswell
Ravens

R Burkhead
N Chubb
K Rudolph
J Gordon
N Ahgolar

Might drop Chubb for Keelan Cole
Only drafted Chubb to make fun of a buddy. Only drafted Rudolph to make a homer nearly cry - worth all 3 dollars.

Burkhead will be your flex by week 3.

I don't get the Lynch love. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the Raiders being able to be a ball-control offense and give it to Lynch 15-20 times a game which is what he always needed in SEA. Their defense is putrid and now without K. Mack. Carr is gonna throwing 35+ times to keep them in it.

I agree which is why I'm very nervous about having him as my flex. I think a lot of people ran into the same thing as me where there just wasn't much RB depth and he was all that was left.

Lynch is the perfect guy to assume a L. Blount TD-hawk role, but the offense isn't effective enough. If he can be a poor-mans version you could trade him for a decent WR once injuries and bye-weeks are the norm.
