Fire Rick Spielman Now!
Where’s Kyle Sloter or young QB when the Minnesota Vikings need it? Rick Spielman has always been afraid to bring a qb to challenge the starter.
Was afraid of drafting Russell Wilson because of Christian Ponder’s confidence. Vikings coached Russell at the Senior Bowl and knew he was legit but they didn’t want to scare Ponder with training camp competition.
Same with cutting Sloter for Kirk Cousins’s confidence. Instead we have a weak as hell back up in Sean Mannion who holds a clipboard for Kirk.
Mike Zimmer has to go. Kirk Cousins has to go. Fire Rick Spielman. He hand picked Christian Ponder and now Kirk Cousins. He can’t evaluate QB’s or identify Oline. Minnesota Vikings need a change at the end of the season.
The real question is did the Minnesota Vikings screw up by staying with Mike Zimmer & letting Kevin Stefanski go like when we stayed with Brad Childress & let Mike Tomlin go.

No GM other than Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones has been GM longer and not made the Super Bowl.
It is time to move on.
Too many bad decisions too often.
It's that simple.
And don't forget about these two drafts which is where the core of our players should be from right now.
Spielman's drafts 2016-2017.
D. Cook
P. Elflein
Jaleel Johnson
B. Gedeon
Rodney Adams
Danny Isidora
Bucky Hodges
Stacy Coley
Ifeadi Odenigbo
E. Lee
J. Tocho
Laquon Treadwell
Mackensie Alexander
Willie Beavers
K. Brothers
M. Boehringer
David Morgan
Stephen Weatherly
Jayron Kearse

Re: Fire Rick Spielman Now!
I don't know what he's done to make it this long.
He has a bunch of bobos that call him "top 10" whatever that means when you can't assemble teams that win anything and they talk about how he "wins the draft" every year.
Then you look back and realize the drafts were nothing special.

How's that Jacksonville GM looking now?
Two #1's Two #2's
Plus an UDFA Rookie RB as good as any back in the league.
Boy those 7th rounders Rick has piled up sure are paying off handsomely.

Re: Fire Rick Spielman Now!
GM's and fans overvalue "draft picks" and all that matters is the name attached to it.
3 first round picks in a draft was mastery in 2013, fans loved it! Patterson, Rhodes and Floyd were the names.
Could have been Deandre Hopkins, Travis Frederick and your pick of: Xavier Rhodes, Zach Ertz, Darius Slay, Travis Kelce, Kawann Short, Jamie Collins, Larry Warford, Tyrann Mathieu
2 first round picks in 2014 was mastery in 2013, fans loved it! Anthony Barr and Teddy Bridgewater were the names.
Who takes Barr over Aaron Donald, Taylor Lewan, Odell Beckham, Zack Martin, etc. now?
We have a HC who is supposedly some great defensive mind that develops really good DBs If that were the case, why have the Vikings used 8-10 first or second round picks on DBs? Shouldn't a great DB coach be able to find the diamond in the rough and develop them?
All those picks utilized on things that have NOT been the biggest problem for years and years which is the OL.

You don't have to tell me about the 2013 Draft. I said on draft night Bill Fleeced Rick.
But you have guys like Mlhouse and Ash (Arrogance) who act like they know better.

Re: Fire Rick Spielman Now!
I wrote this in the wrong thread:
I have been bitching about how Spielman screwed this organization up because of the Bradford trade, but really it is his incessant “all-in” bs and thinking we are always one piece away that kills us. That we can’t build because we are set to win now.
It just got worse and worse.
I know we could have traded for Foles when we traded for Bradford, but that is Rick. We could have won just as many games with Bridgewater’s back up, but we had to win now. Which led to jack squat until Keenum. Keenum shocked and they tried to bench him. We paid so much for Bradford.... BS. Same BS.
Keep Keenum, draft a quarterback. Lamar Jackson, Teddy’s superior replacement at Louisville was up.
But no. Too risky with this roster to win now. Let’s get into Bradford II with The Kirk Cousins Sweepstakes and the Defillippo experiment.
Crash. Burn. Just like Ponder. Like Chilly. Like Freeman. Kalil.
The common element is Rick Spielman. He is the chaotic architect of this shitshow.

Re: Fire Rick Spielman Now!
Rick Spielman sucks.
The fact remains he has consistently missed on the biggest and most important position on a football team; QUARTERBACK!
He picks qb’s who he believes are book smart but never the guy who is an actually leader or has guts. Spielman has zero ability to scout intangibles in the QB.
He’s had 14 years here and we haven’t made one super bowl. We consistently get rid of all our veteran leaders and think a bunch of rookies can lead a locker room of men on and off the field.
There’s a reason why Nick Saban, the greatest college coach of all time said Rick Spielman has a low football IQ when they were the Gm/Coach combo with the Dolphjns. Rick handpicked AJ Feely for Miami franchise QB. Major and epic fail 3 times now picking a franchise QB, Feely, Ponder, Cousins.
These are facts and not opinions.

Good god you just make shit up as you go. The Vikings are the 12th best team in the NFL in terms of wins over the past decade. The teams in the top 5 were teams with established quarterbacks like Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Rothlesberger. Unfortunatley for MInnesota we made a mistake in Ponder (a bad pick from day 1, but teams make bad picks), the Bridgewater injury, and the Bradford injury.UnFadeable21 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 5:46 pm Rick Spielman sucks.

The team has delivered talent and it is idiotic to now claim he "consistently got rid" of veteran leaders like that had anything to do with the player and not the salary cap.
Rick Spielman has delivered talent up and down the roster using every method of player acquisition. There is actual talent on this team. The 1-5 record is Spielman's fault to the degree he is responsible for Mike Zimmer being the coach. That is the biggest problem.

Even years before cutting veteran locker room leaders like BRob and Terrance Newman to keep crap like Tashawn Bower and Holton Hill.
You know how Rick always trades back for all those late round picks. 90% of those guys don’t make the team.
How’s missing on Winfield Jr or Tyler Johnson looking now?
How’s never bringing in a young qb as the second guy looking like now? The fact remains, Rick is afraid to bring in QB competition because he is afraid to shake the confidence of the starter.
Learn the game!

One could list numerous blue chip players Rick passed on. On top of stupid trades.
And Mattison sucks ass. So does Bisi F'King Johnson.
