We’re going to need a new CB since Dantzler sucks.

With the 12th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select...

We'll do just good enough to get another mediocre, middling pick.

I’d say best olineman regardless of pick, but considering the track record this team has in developing talent there, it would be a waste of time.

Delivery/mechanics are poor, ball placement is sketchy in streaks, had great receivers to throw to.

He's got the look/intensity but seems more interested in the benefits of being considered great than actually interested in being great.

I stand by my assessment.

Setting aside the QB issue for the moment, And assuming the return of Hunter and next year, Pierce, I’m going stud 3-tech DT round 1 and OL round 3.

Ngakoue/Stud/Pierce/Hunter next year would cure a lot of ills.

Cleveland/rookie3/Bradbury/???Samia?/O’Neal would be better next year too.

Lawrence - but they will have no shot at him. Vikes will go 7-9, pick around 15th overall and take a S (which they might desperately need).

Kirk Cousins will never lead a team to a Super Bowl win.

Tank for Trevor

Unless you have a great quarterback you’re not gonna win consistently nowadays

This team isn't very good at tanking for good QBs. We'll likely win a meaningless game late in the year that will push us out of contention, it's the Viking way.

The bright side of today's loss is that they're sill in the running for Trevor Lawrence.

We won't tank enough for Trevor, thank God. He will play in the NFL but he's not going to be a Mahomes/Wilson/Jackson level player. Therefore not worth the farm. I'd rather we target BOTH Tanner Morgan or Trey Lance if available AFTER 2nd Round. Prefer Lance in the latest round possible. Have a competition by bringing in a veteran who could start for a year or so while grooming this guy. BUT if we are even remotely close to tanking for Trevor (by happenstance of outright sucking) then it doesn't matter what I think, Spielman and Zim may be gone.

I'm sure the guys playing for their careers and livelihood would be happy to lose games so the team they may not be on the next year can draft a QB.

I'm sure if everyone asks nice they will do it.

I find it hard to believe some fans want to tank for a QB that melted in last years Championship game. Obviously he's got an outstanding winning record but is playing for a power house college. I seen the one game and he couldn't handle it.

Exactly... I rarely watch non-Big Ten games, but I watched the entire CFP last year. Burrow looked like a 15 year starter, just crushing it. Good ball placement, mechanics, velocity. Lawrence looked like Cousins mentally, but with even less of the overall arm talent...

Jax is a perfect example of how it's very hard to tank in the NFL.

It's pretty clear the front office is trying to based on the number of players they've moved out, but good luck convincing Gardner Minshew to lay down so they can draft his replacement. It's the same thing I say when someone says we should have lost that one game late in the year and gotten 1 or 2 in the Luck/RG3 draft; good luck convincing Joe Webb to tank his one shot at being a starting QB.
2020 All Time NBA Draft

A Iverson, K Irving
J Havlicek, M Ginobili, M Richmond
D Wilkins, B Bowen
T Duncan, B McAdoo
H Olajuwon, W Unseld, A Sabonis

People dont get this.

Why would players tank for a team, to draft a player, when they may not be on the team the next year.

They are playing for jobs, careers, livelihood.

Elflein is playing for his job. He isnt going to let cook get stopped if he can help it. Just so this team, which he wont be on next year can draft a QB.

Its crazy.

I can’t believe Ash, the biggest Cousins/Spielman ballwasher started this thread after the first game. Granted he only really cares about drafts, but this someone who has built up Rick and Kirk on these boards more than most.

Just cannot make it up how bad of takes some have had here on these new boards.

It, in itself, is a bad “take” to make any wide sweeping claims based on one or two games.

Remember when you saw Keenum throw one miracle TD and then proclaimed that the Vikings should give him a big money multi-year extension?

That being said, I’m about ready to eat crow on Cousins. He’s still a good QB if he has a clean pocket, but that’s not really a reality here.

Zimmer, I’m about done with him too.

Rick, I still maintain is a good GM. I fully realize I’m in the minority on this, but it’s just my opinion.
