Who are folks rooting for tonight - GB or Chicago?
And why?
I think Chicago is the tougher team and more of an NFC North threat so I think a GB win is best for Minn overall.

I am taking the NFC North Champions Of last year and this year to win.

After this game Packers have the next three at home starting with the Vikings (Broncos and Eagles after) next week and I'd really like them to not start out 3-1...0-4 would be much better.
Butttt...Bears have Broncos and Skins on the road after this game and then the Vikings go there, so they could be 3-0 by the time we visit then the Raiders the next game.
I think it'd be better if the Packers win, they seem more catchable.

Some of you dummies would actually root for GB? Yeah, lets worry about other teams in week 1 of a season. Good God, I have heard it all. WTF is wrong with you???
The ONLY time it would be acceptable to root them is if their win means something directly and immediately impactful, ie, a playoff berth or something.
This really needs explaining?

I should probably root for the Packers. They're obviously the worse of the 2 teams. That said, I find Aaron Rodgers meltdowns to be very enjoyable. So that's probably my best case scenario.

Rooting for the Bears.
A Bears playoff game or Super Bowl would be way more tolerable to watch.
I dislike the Packers more.

Packers haven't been crap a few years and still get way too much attention.
The bears have 1 good year and their fans become worse then Packer fans.
Having said that, I would prefer a Bears Victory.

Neither, though Chicago is the lesser of two evils. If both teams can't lose, how about a tie? I never want to see players get seriously injured, but is it wrong to wish for minor knicks that would keep Rodgers and Adams out of next week's matchup?

I swear to God, you are a woman. Nothing wrong with that obviously, but its the only explanation for the incessant whining about nothing. Yeah, poking fun at someone legitly asking if anyone is rooting for our hated rival is "insufferable". Are you for real?
Why dont you go find a Cunningham post to try and box him on, because, no, really, thats not insufferable at all!

It's not about rooting for GB. Just which team do you want to see win to help the vikings down the road this season. Big difference.hategreenticemase wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 7:18 am Some of you dummies would actually root for GB? Yeah, lets worry about other teams in week 1 of a season. I won't root for either one but if you have a preference as to the winner and how it might help the vikings....

I will never root for the Pack until they are pretty much eliminated.

Rodgers has proven he'll check out of a season so I'm hoping for a bad start to the season.
Then Rodgers won't try as hard even though he got a team killing contract. Worry about the Bears later.

It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

Hatred of the Packers is deeper than the Bears.... But.
It would be nice if both starting quarterbacks were to blow their ACL's in one game and go out for the season.
I suppose having the Packers win would help us though.

Can't go against the Bears at home. Whoever wins will have a leg up on second place in the division.

I just really want the Packers to suck again. And suck early.

I mean, it's just a football game. Why shouldn't I want it to work out in the way that I find to be the most entertaining? That said, if the Bears lose, I'm still happy. One of my least favorite teams loses tonight, either way.Da Gas Man wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 10:42 amI'm not disputing that. I'd love to see the Vikings go in there at 1-0 and Packers 0-1 and beat 'em too. I don't know if Denver is going to be good but Eagles and Cowboys could be back to back losses. Who wouldn't love to see the Packers start out 1-4?Da Gas Man wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 10:43 am You also don't want the Packers being desperate next week. Let them feel cocky going into Week 2.

I live in the Chicago area so I will not root for the Bears. The Bears fans are a little out of control with excitement right now.

Not rooting for either but I dislike the packers more than I dislike the bears.
