Give RaShede Hageman a shot!

Post by mglviks »

Pioneer Press ran a story about him today and his hopes of getting back into the nfl. After 2 years out of the league with legal issues. Claims to be in the best shape of his life.

Couldnt hurt to give a talented local product a camp invite and a chance redeem himself. Chip on his shoulder and nothing to lose is a good recipe for a man to give it his all. Could come away with a decent rotational lineman, former 2nd round pick certainly had an intriguing skill set with his height and strength.

Not the worst idea. He wasnt a very good player in the NFL though.

If I remember correctly, he was a big disruptive force for that playoff run the Falcons went on when they lost to the Pats in the SB. Everyone had Rashede pinned as a breakout candidate...then, the domestic abuse thing, and he was all done.

I'm all for 2nd chances. Character and passion for football was always the question with him, dating back to his Gophers days (theres some cool stories about Kill getting through to him and turning him into the highest draft pick the Gophers had since Maroney). Maybe being a bit older, he gets it now...maybe.

He didnt pop. But was young and not much around him.

No risk on a camp invite.

37th pick in the draft 5 years ago. Zimmer has taken reclamation projects before.

Yeah, low risk/high reward to bring him in.

What can it hurt to kick the tires?

The only risk is that there is someone better to give the chance to. But I am not saying that is true. Local kid. Used to show great skills. Huge long shot but there are longer shots.

Draft is loaded. With so many early. A Team who take a 43 dt will likely pass on drafting another one mid rounds.
Might be some legit normal year 3rd round talent who drops to the 5th like a Beckner, Keke or Buggs.

Still like the idea.

I'd feel like he'd be a steal in the fourth...Vikes don't have a fifth

I’d take a flyer on him for the league minimum.

Funny thing about pitch fork nation is that they would have a fit over this guy's domestic abuse if he was a star. Since he is now a nobody no one will care.
