The game considers Ford an early second round pick.

Just trade back and get him.

Great draft for the Vikes, if I may say so myself.

Rebuilt the o-line with our new nasty mauler LG, Risner. The nimble dancing bear of a LT, Dillard and starting beast interior lineman, Gray.

Let Dillard back up Reiff until he takes over next year. Start Risner at LG, keep Elf at C, cut Remmers and replace him at RB with Gray. Keep O’Neill at RT.

Drafted the QB of the future in Lock, found Griffins replacement with Omenihu, Rudy’s replacement next year at TE with Caleb’s Wilson and Barr’s replacement at OLB with Hanks.

Use Barr’s money to resign Sheldon Richardson at DT and maybe sign another G in free agency for depth.

SUPERBOWL HOMEBOY.

Not bad but just because you received a higher draft grade for drafting a bunch of scrubs, with the exception of Cody Ford, doesn’t make your draft better than, let’s say, my draft!

While the game is fun, let’s not get carried away.

I mean, I see it all the time where teams make infinity trade-backs and end up with 7 or 8 third-round picks!

This is a draft that Spielman would be proud of!! Lots of late round draft picks and turning draft picks into lots more draft picks. I turned the Vikings original draft pick number of 5 into 44 draft picks. Hire me Zygi!! I'll come cheaper than the current dude that does your drafting.

Round 7 Pick 32 (N.E.): Baron II, John, K, San Diego State (A+)

Interesting how a few weeks ago I could trade back into the 2nd round and get Ford. Now, you're lucky to nab him sitting tight at 18 like I did. If he fell to us, we'd be absolute fools not to take him. So I did.

Not really looking for a safety, but if Rapp falls to us in the 2nd, how can we not? He and Smith would be elite together and we'd have our next stud in the secondary for when Smith starts to decline. Sometimes you draft for need, sometimes you draft before you need. Total value pick.

The third round is where I started to play Rick Spielman and make some trade backs and really add talent. I love this game. No way some of these crazy trades go through in the real NFL. Anyway, I'm not as high on Lindstrom as some, but in the late 3rd, he's a great pick. Now we can go Reiff/Ford/Elfline/Lindstrom/O'Neal and feel pretty good about it.

Oliver is a great receiving prospect. I'm not sure he makes Rudy expendable year one, but he's an heir apparent type who might need a year to develop. Great frame and makes athletic catches down the field, but not much of a blocker. He and Morgan could be the classic Receiving/Blocking TE combo moving forward.

Copeland would never be available in the 4th round of a normal draft, but because of how deep this draft is at the DL, we get a 2nd round talent in the 4th round. I think he has explosive potential to be a wrecker in the interior of the line. He could even play some DE at times. But his explosiveness at DT on passing downs would be something.

Peters is a great prospect in the 5th. He's tall and long, like Zim likes 'em. Decent speed, but not elite. A little bit of a project, but I think in a year or two he could be a starter. Maybe as Rhodes ages? Who knows. We're in the 5th round now so we're definitely taking shots at finding gems.

Brady is another such shot. Tall and impressive hands, but a little thin. Somewhat raw and probably an outside-only guy, but with the versatility of Diggs and Theilen to play outside or inside, we can get away with that. He'd look to push or replace Treadwell and give us a big WR option. And a tall, lanky WR from Marshall with good hands and impressive ball skills? That can't go wrong, can it?

Sapp and Roemer are boom/bust guys that have above-average skills and athleticism for the 7th round, but have some character baggage. If they get sideways, then we can wash our hands of them. If not, they're both value picks that could contribute late in the draft.

And I drafted a kicker with the last pick. I guess he's got a decent leg. Got to keep throwing kickers at the wall until we find one that sticks.

If we somehow got a draft like this, I think I'd let Richardson, Sendejo, Remmers, and maybe Rudolph go. I try to keep Barr, due to not getting a suitable replacement in the draft. I don't need to get a high-priced FA guard with Ford and Lindstrom, so we can give that money to Barr. I like both Harris and Kearse at safety, but with Rapp, we certainly don't need both. I keep Griffen with this draft, though I'd look to restructure him if I could. (and I know I'm looking at it backwards and FA happens before the draft, but whatever.)

Harris is a UFA, there is no guarantee he signs back with us. We have only 2 Safeties on roster for 2019 (taking into account that they cut Sendejo like we all think they do).

Safety is/will definitely be a need.

I’m assuming that if we want to keep Harris, he’ll stay for a reasonable Sendejo-like deal.

Maybe I’m wrong about that, but that’s my assumption. Smith-Harris-Kearse is okay. Need another body for depth. But if a talent like Rapp fell to us in the 2nd, we’d be fools not to take him. If not, I think a later-round developmental safety would be okay. If I’m right about being able to keep Harris, that is. If we lose him, we’ll definately need a bigger investment.

Exactly. No reason to think he wouldn't resign with us, but if not - I'm not panicking. Zimmers best strength so far has been developing db's. He took slop like Sendejo and made him functional, and he had developed guys to take over for him since then that have been solid.
